I can't thank you enough for staying with the community for the past however many years and improving all of our lives to such a huge degree. Another great lesson that I will come back to over and over until my stubborn fingers can play this to what I consider to be an acceptable fraction of how well you play it. I finally nailed Pride and Joy, took so many years of hunting gear for tone and not being able to hold the rhythm. Now it seems so easy, I’m having a blast, thanks Marty... All it requires is that you practice until you get it and really want to play it, I procrastinated too long then finally went for it, with Marty’s help getting the swing down it’s not too difficult for you.
@univuniveral97133 жыл бұрын
I am a beginner and I am realising the same thing. Some songs are pretty easy and you learn them in one sitting. But ths "Pride and Joy" song, is so difficult it is taking me over one year. However, I realise that I do grasp it a bit better easch time I take a month's break from this song and come back to it. I am not evenhalf way there.

I’ve been studying only Blues, particularly Texas Blues, sax since I was born almost, guitar a bit shy of two years. I’m just shocked. I picked this right up. All the techniques being used here, I can do all of that. Turns out lessons and practicing daily instead of learning a bunch of songs really works! I was reluctant to de tune a half step, but I use heavy strings like SRV did-his were 13 to 52 I’m using 10 to 52-and that definitely makes the bends easier, but I’m going to stick with normal tuning outside of this lesson.

Hey Marty. Met a young player at Guitar Center in Lubbock, Texas. He is fairly new to Guitar. I showed him a few songs and then told him about you and Tim. I said I highly recommend you're Web Sight. His name is Jacob. Smiled real big and said "yes, I watch him a lot". Then we both were real happy. I told him I have been playing more than 46 years and that I used you because I might miss a note. My hearing sucks. He felt great that an experienced Axe Man would use you as well. You and Tim keep up the fine work and HELLO FROM WEST, TEXAS y'all.-------Could you play the Jeff Healey version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"? That intro. Another Song giving me fits is "Wild Flower" by Skylark.

@martinlindwall78346 жыл бұрын
don't know if Marty uses it but i'm pretty sure that SRV used overwound picups to get his signature fat bluesy sound. Overwound picups has higher output and therfore the gain is greater and the sound starts to crack easily.
