Best guitar performance ever recorded, imo. Stevie obviously had great skill, tone, passion, and feel, but there's something else going on that puts him above the rest. I can't explain it, but like you said in the vid, it gets right to your soul.

When Stevie goes behind the back, it is fun to watch the reactions as jaws drop to the floor. And they always have to stop and back it up. It is magic to watch him play. I was lucky to see him at a small club when his first album dropped. We were all floored by him. When he died, I thanked God I got to see him play. It boggles the mind to think of the music he could have put out in the 30 years since his passing. Some say God called Stevie home early because he wanted guitar lessons. RIP SRV.

The El Mocambo was the absolute best bar/venue we had in Toronto, especially during the 70's and 80's. Not a huge place - seated about 450 - but managed to book incredible acts just before they hit the music stratosphere. As well as Stevie Ray some of the bands were: Blondie, The Cars, U2, Meatloaf, Cheap Trick, Jimi Hendrix - loads more. In 1977 the Rolling Stones even gave 2 surprise performances there. They billed themselves as "The Cockroaches".

What I like about y'all's style of Reaction is you leave it up to the fans to guide you on your journey. I'm just a tad older than you and Country/Bluegrass was the staple on Granny's radio and Family Reunions. R&B was the staple on the Boat. (8 tracks were cheap) I wore out a couple of Elvis LPs. I studied Classical in School and can't forget The Bugs Bunny, Road Runner Show was FULL of Classical. It created a LOVE of music that spans so many Genres. Music brings us together. Your reaction is among the best out there! I was lucky enough to catch Stevie Ray in LA in '84. I was still a teenager, and plucking at guitar as my get-girls strategy. Stevie saved me from the music of the 80s, and showed me that the guitar is a pursuit in itself, regardless of the girls. I was in the army in SaudiArabia, deployed to Desert Shield when he died. From my little spot in the desert, that day made the whole world seem a lonely place. You guys take care.
