70s Stevie is the strongest peak any artist has ever reached (talent wise) in music history.

This is from an appearance on SOUL! , a live music program on PBS back in the early 70's. I remember it clearly because I sat my little tape recorder close to the television and recorded the entire program. Listened to it many times. I still have the cassette.

In youth, he could sing anything, anyway he wanted to. He's still a brilliant vocalist, but the passage of time has seasoned his voice. This is an excellent example of how flexible his voice was in the day. Also, I have to point out that Stevie has always had gifted background singers. Bless them all for the gifts and talents.

Marvin got it vocally and he made the best r&b album of the 70s, What's going on, and was better than Stevie at his zenith which was the 70s. But, Stevie Wonder is the greatest black male artist living. This is because Stevie has the biggest catalog of quality music over a career. Greatest artist #2 best vocalist

@@keithglenn8897 I would put songs in the key of life a tie with what's going on. Absolute equally amazing albums that spoke to the times, the state of society, humanity and the wonders if this planet

That would be Lani Groves (the one that sung ""You are the apple of my eye, forever you'll stay in my heart" in the first verse of You Are THE SUNSHINE OF MY LIFE), and other songs. He also has had the following work for him: Minnie Riperton, Denise Williams and Deja Gomez.

He's survived some of the greats, Marvin, Luther, Teddy, Michael, Whitney, Ella, Sarah,Barry White, Syreeta and he still here to tell the story, but I know that his heart must hurt to have to bury so many of his contemporaries .... enough of that, I'm eternally grateful to have him STILL with us and his geniuns. And if you really love me won't you tell me.. And if you really love me won't you tell me.. And if you really love me won't you tell me.. Then I won't have to be Playing around You call my name Oooh so sweet To make your kiss incomplete When your mood is clear You quickly change your ways Then you say I'm untrue What am I supposed to do Be a fool who sits alone waiting for you But if you really love me won't you tell me.. But if you really love me won't you tell me.. And if you really love me won't you tell me.. Then I won't have to be Playing around I see the light of your smile Calling me all the while You are saying baby It's time to go... First the feeling's alright Then it's gone from sight So I'm taking out this time to say Oh if you really love me won't you tell me.. Oh if you really love me won't you tell me.. And if you really love me won't you tell me.. Then I won't have to be Playing around no Playing around no Hey yeah Goofin' around no Oh baby Playing around no Let me know how you feel baby Hey oh baby Playing around no
