Stevie and I lived in Detroit in the same neighborhood we were children then, before he went to Motown. He lived on Breckinridge Ave. off of 23rd St. Everyone in the neighborhood was happy for him when his career took off. Stevie was friends with John Glover ( songwriter/musician John lived down the street on 25th St. I must mention the name of James Gittens (Motown studio musician & jazz musician) he lived next door to our family. I didn’t start out to write so much, my memories took over. God bless you Steveland, hope and pray you have many more productive years ahead of you.

I lovedlove him so much. Christmas eve, 2023. Now. Presents under the tree for our many great grandchildren. Cookies baked for tomorrow. People....I loved him so much. 1977, Nola. I had booked a room in the hotel across from, connected to the Super Dome. I was going home to Kentucky. I got out of my rented car, walked toward the hotel lobby. I saw a black man get out of his limo, guided by a beautiful young woman. I looked at him. It was him!!!! It was Stevie. I walked across the parking lot toward them. She smiled at me. She said something to Stevie. He shook my hand, she did, too. I told him that I loved him. What else could I say!!!!!! He smiled. It was so wonderful. Stevie wonderful. Actual and real.

And it may mean nothing or it may mean something, but you NEVER, EVER hear an unkind word said about him, from ANYONE...I bumped into this video, as I moved away from his performance of "Uptight" (Outta Sight) at the 1989 Rock 'N Roll HOF performances.
