But when you listen to his music through the years, it clear he's always wondering when ppl will stop listening. And it just never happens. Em feels extra pressure to be flawless, cuz he knows hip hop WANTS to rip his status away, that he's spent his life earning. Castle leads up to and ends with him OD’ing in the bathroom. Marshal Mathers (skit) picks up with them finding him in the bathroom and taking him to the hospital. That bleeds right into Deja Vu and chronicles his downfall and how he got to that point, like a recap. In Arose, we’re back to present day, after they take him to the hospital and he’s recovering while hooked up to a ventilator machine. He’s thinking about Haley and how he wants to be there for her, which pushes him to get sober, flushing the pills down the toilet.

This was poetry, super underrated. Em showed human growth. And it was EXACTLY what I personally needed at the exact time I needed it. Recovering from opioid addiction that ran my life for years after a physician prescribed them and I couldn't quit. But my kid looked at me like I'm perfect, yet I'm hiding this thing at all times. It was just a terrible feeling man, and this song hit all those notes. At the same time I left the Army and was trying to finish a degree in order to get into med school, which itself requires you to have flawless grades and check every box. You just feel imperfect at all times. So detoxing, getting sober to this song, and moving on with life...this song gets a ton of credit. A TON.
