There is a lot to like here. I really like the ring to attach the TRX and Bands. So simple, but a great addition I don’t think I’ve ever seen on another rack. The functional trainer portion is another major bonus.

Yeah the suspension training ring is a nice touch and doesn’t cost that much for a company to add. We really like the G15, but you know the gym space is never done.

Nice review Stevie, been using mine for 2 months & love mine. U'll find the paint around the pulley is easily chipped from rubbing with the cable stoppers. Also, u can get a 2nd weight stack pin if u use heavier cable attachment

Smart! I'm assuming you leave one pin in the lightest weight, and you can move the 2nd pin around to different weights all you want without worrying about the weight of the attachment.

Machine looks awesome. I don't know why you would need the 4 to 1 ratio though, switching weights is even faster then flipping from 2 hooks to 1, and of they opened the weight stacks you can just add a 5 pound added weight for 2.5 pound adjustments. What would be good would be to get 2 to 1 for general use and 1 to 1 for rows and lat pulldowns.

I echo that. I find the 1:1 ratio critical for my workouts, which is why I went with the G20. Would be great to also have 2:1 ratio for exercises like flyes, lateral raises, etc, where I find 1:1 a little heavy.

Hey Stevie! Great videos, could you do demonstration videos on the G15 for “all” possible exercises/as a guide? Also with the upgrade kit? I would watch the hell out of that as it would come really handy for my decision. Thanks!

As I m not getting any younger, I think having 2 or 4:1 ratio is a pro not a con. I like the g12 footprint though. Do you think that cables are too heavy with a 1:1 ratio on that one?
@StevieRichardsFitness
@StevieRichardsFitness 2 жыл бұрын
I believe the scalability of the 2:1 ratio far outweighs, for me, the 1:1 ratio benefits. There is enough weight in the stacks and the ability to create a 1:1 ratio by connecting a bar to both pulleys. Hey Stevie, hope all is well. First, I would like to say thank you for all your videos on the Force USA line. It's been VERY helpful in zeroing in on which unit I want for my home gym. Initially, I was leaning heavily toward the G12 for all of its included features, for the money. However, I'm now fairly certain I want the G15 with the upgrade kit. (Love the leg press and the jammer arms.) With that being said, there is one small (hair-splitting) piece of data missing pertaining dimensions and none of the website pictures show the depth of the unit with the storage shelves attached. And one thing that I'm really geeky about is there is no 3D image of the G15. I noticed that you mounted your storage shelves flat and with the raised lip to the back which is (or appears to be) the short side toward the wall. I'm wondering how much of the shelf hangs out the back of the unit. Or in other words how far forward does the unit need to be moved away from the wall to accommodate the storage shelves. I sort of feel like I might want the lipped edge forward which would translate into the longer or deeper part of the shelf toward the wall. Can ya help me out here, brother? It may be a minuscule difference but since this is going in the garage and somewhat into the path in which my wife swings her car in, every inch counts. Thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from you. Rob M Wilmington, NC

Hey Rob, Thanks for watching the videos and commenting. Actually, I flipped the shelves around over the weekend and slightly tilted every one but the bottom one. It does make the back of the shelves closer to the back while giving more interior working space. The rear uprights of the G15 are 11 inches from my back wall and the back tip of the shelves are approx. 5 1/2 inches. I planned on covering these measurements in the upgrade kit review video since many have asked about this detail. The worst thing is assuming it fits and this huge palette of 1100lbs arrives and it doesn’t fit. Also, I shot a quick video to show these measurements if you want to email me. I’ll reply back with the video. If you do decide to purchase the G15 or anything, I really appreciate you using my link: www.forceusa.com/stevie

Good review Stevie. Question for you: How many inches off the floor is the Smith Bar when it’s resting on the Springs ? Also is the smith bar below your knees when the Smith Bar is on the springs ? I’m asking because if a tall user wanted to do deadlifts. I am 6’3” tall
@StevieRichardsFitness
@StevieRichardsFitness 2 жыл бұрын
Great question. I’ll do a video on this along with measurements so it can as precise as possible. My guess from using the smith machine for RDLs is that full deadlifts, unless you’re standing on a platform, won’t really work. Also, you’ll hit your head on the top of the G15 if you stand on a platform or riser of any sort. If you do decide to get the G15 or anything else, please use my link: www.forceusa.com/stevie

I own the G15 and I really wished that ForceUSA would have some method of storing the jammer arms/spotter arms/etc on the area where the instructional diagrams are located for a clean and neat look.
@StevieRichardsFitness
@StevieRichardsFitness 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree that the jammer arms can be pretty cumbersome when trying to find a clean spot for them.
@OnlyHalfRedneck
@OnlyHalfRedneck 2 жыл бұрын
Does it feel flimsy? I’m really concerned about the 2x2 uprights. And, since you actually own one, does the 2:1 double pulley mechanism work ok?
@tinier74
@tinier74 2 жыл бұрын
The 2 x 2 uprights are very sturdy (mainly because of all the weight of the stacks+structure behind them), but finding aftermarket attachments for them (2 x 2 with 5/8" holes) can be a pain (roller J-cups, longer safety spotters, dumbbell spotter, etc). As for the 4:1/2:1 ratios I really love the 4:1 for work that needs constant tension or long cable travel). The design of the 2:1 makes it more appropriate for horizontal cable pull work (facepull, seated row) than stuff like lat pulldowns. If they made the X15 pro (3x3 1" uprights) with the 4:1/2:1 ratio cables, then it'll be the perfect homegym machine.

The back is about 10-12 inches from the wall. The way the G15 is angled, there’s only the center point of the unit closest to the wall. Pretty cool engineering. Keep me updated on how the G15 is working for you.

Great video. Does the g15 pro coke with the landmine attachment? What’s the difference between the g15 and g15 pro? I’m trying to decide between the g12 and g15 mainly to get the 2:1 ratio.
@StevieRichardsFitness
@StevieRichardsFitness 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Aaron, Thanks for watching and commenting. The G15 Pro base model does not include the landmine attachment(they call it the core trainer now). G15 and G15 Pro are the same. It was just easier during the video to refer to it simply as the G15. The only difference is the attachments in the upgrade kit as opposed to the base model. I believe the dual cable pulley ratios- 2:1 and 4:1- on the G15 are great. It really is a game changer, in my opinion, for scalability with cable exercises. Also, the G15 has that ability to be upgraded with those upgrade kit attachments. The G12 is also a great all in one trainer. Lots of people in the audience are still loving theirs. I just feel like the G15 suits my needs- both present and future. If you decide to purchase the G15, G12 or anything else, please use my link: www.forceusa.com/stevie

@@StevieRichardsFitness thanks so much for the response and great information! I think I’m looking more towards the g15 now. I’ll purchase the core trainer attachment separately and looks like I’d need to do the same for the lat row foot plate? I’m measuring up the space I need for the g15. Could I ask you, how high from the floor does the pull up bar measure in inches? I know there is the total measurement of the unit online but I’m guessing the top includes the pulley which is the highest point.

The pull-up bar is approximately 1/2” from the topmost point of the G15. Also, the row footplate is included with the base model G15.

Are there any numbers or markings on the pulley system rails to be able to easily get the left and right side even?

Hey Chris, Yes there are. They are located on the front and inside. During the video, it was tough to see because of the light shining on the uprights. @@StevieRichardsFitness A couple more questions: I’ve seen your videos where you attach a bar across the 2 pulleys to get a 1 to 1 ratio. Would this be possible with a lay pull down bar with the hook in the center using the extension chains? Second question: I’m 6’5. Do you see any big limitations on this or should I go with the G20?
@StevieRichardsFitness
@StevieRichardsFitness 2 жыл бұрын
Chris, Sorry for the delay in my response. You could technically use that method with the chains attached to each stack, but any length on the chain will inhibit your range of motion- especially at 6’5”. As far your height on the second question- you have 4 more inches of height on the interior space on the G20 and about 10” extra depth. Here are the G15 interior dimensions: 40 in (W) x 50 in (D) x 80 in (H) Here are the G20 interior dimensions: 40 in (W) x 60 in (D) x 84 in (H) With the G20, you also have a lat pulldown upgrade available. That’s 1:1 without having to do any DIYing. That could also be an option with consideration of budget and space. If you ever have any questions that need a quicker answer, you can always email me directly via the website.

Hey Antonio, I do lat pulldowns from the center using one of the included bars. I can attachment each end to both pulleys and get a 1:1 ratio. Same thing for rows. As far as spacing on the sides, I have a good 2+ feet on both sides of the trainer.

Great question. Here are the exterior dimensions of the G12: 79 in (W) x 49 in (D) x 89 in (H) Here are the exterior dimensions of the G15: 80 in (W) x 53 in (D) x 87 in (H) It really depends on many factors, but especially height.
