Brother, Stewart Copeland and Nick Mason on GRAND TOUR? How did I miss this?

Mick Jagger was Charlie Watts' singer and Charlie proved it physically by decking him!

This was awesome. Saw it when it aired. Two iconic drummers. Polar opposites but incredible dudes from two incredible bands.

Watching the interview, it seems Stewart is very jolly and enthusiastic while Mason was very meek and awkward but adorable, they weirdly have good chemistry and it so happens they are some of the best drummers this world has ever seen

this is gold to me for they are the drummers from my top 2 fave bands

As a 53 year old drummer who's been going at it since I was 14, I love both of these guys, Stewart in a particular. Personally, I put Jeff Porcaro right up there with them. Interesting anecdote about Buddy Rich, considered by many to be the GOAT of all drumming styles. Rich, who was as arrogant as they come, notoriously despised rock and roll as a genre of music and pretty much all rock and roll drummers; but when asked if he could think of anything -- just anything at all -- that he could find redeeming about rock and roll, he was about to emphatically say NO when suddenly his face immediately lit up and he declared, very enthusiastically: YES! Levon Helm.

I heard that Rich liked Three Dog Night’s drummer, Floyd Sneed.

Buddy Rich and Ginger Baker, two of the greatest drummers of all time. Both of them hateful, narrow-minded men, it would seem.

67 and played since 12. Buddy Rich got my attention but was intimidating. Keith Moon made me feel free to play. Personally, I'm with you with Jeff. Alan White is underrated, I think.

That's the first time I heard this about Buddy liking Levon. It's awesome because although Levon was not a technical adept like Buddy, his groove and "emotional" drumming was so distinctive!

Mitch Mitchell was wonderful. First caught on to him when I heard Fire by the JHE. No wonder Jimi kept returning to him.

My GOAT is definitively Stewart Copeland, THE Master!... Then John Bonham, Neil Peart, Manu Katché, Omar Hakim, Phil Collins, Mitch Mitchell, Vinnie Colaiuta, Nick Mason, etc.

A lot of great drummers listed here. Can I add Lenny White? Oh just thought of 4 or 5 more. I will just stop.

I love both of these guys so much. Both would definitely be in my top 10. Jaki Liebezeit of CAN however, will probably always be my favorite of all time.

Lo increíble es que Nick Mason giró junto a Hendrix en el 67 junto a Pink Floyd, así que probablemente haya tenido bastante interacción con Mitch Mitchell.

The best drummers ever are your favorites, or the ones you learned the most from...so everyone's list is different.

Mitchell was the best sideman a guitar virtuose can expect. Very relevant and highly supporting and always at his place. He was clever and inspire by jazz as most good drummers of his generation (except the loony Keith 😉). Miles Davis said in 1969 he was the best drummer over the world. I bet he could be proud of it !

Stewart is the the man for me and then his close friend Niel, but 1 name is missing in the comments Mick Tucker of The Sweet. Hope I've corrected that omission.
