Love that Peter is always rocking the sonic shades, just in case the interview goes wrong and he needs to make a quick escape.

While there is no evidence to deny that the sunglasses were written in due to Capaldi's fondness for wearing them, the reason they are known to be written in is simply that Moffat wanted to.

To be honest, I never thought Kevin was a Who fan, so for him to bring up School Reunion was awesome. Even though they had nothing to do with it - loved it

Well, it does kinda show -- the not being a Who fan, I think. He has one episode he saw that he loved, and that seems to be it. Nevertheless, Kevin did a pretty good recovery, for someone revealed to know next to nothing about the people he's interviewing and the show they've done together for the past 4 yrs.

I think he tried a total rewatch after this and stopped ironically again with 10, mentioned randomly on a FATMOB Pod 2 or less years after this, something like “I feel like David Tennant in Doctor Who, you ever seen his send off,…. I don’t want to go…”-A Still High Kevin Smith lol

The most fun crammed in 10 minutes. Thanks for posting it. And for the record, he's still cool, with or without the shades...ugh it's going to be exciting and heartbreaking... oh, wait, we still got 4 Months and 2 Days remaining, so.......rock on....I guess. @ghanaking5255
@ghanaking5255 Жыл бұрын
@@prettyoriginalnameprettyor7506 After I saw the Flux Season two years ago, and I haven't seen Whittaker's final story, The Power of the Doctor yet, you're right. It was Chris Chibnall's fault, his writing pretty much downplayed Whittaker's four years, which started five years ago ( 2018-2022 ) one up from Peter Capaldi's three as the Twelfth Doctor ( 2014-2017 ). But give Jodie Whittaker credit for playing the first Female Time Lord as the Thirteenth Doctor, and from the First Female Time Lord to the First Black Time Lord in Ncuti Gautwa's Fifteenth Doctor next year, here's hoping he won't face any unnerving critiques and do a fantastic job. It makes you wonder now that Doctor Who is leaving both BBC America and MAX, formally known as HBO MAX, to Disney+, will it be worth getting it ..... oops, ended too early ( butterfingers 😛 ), or wait until the DVD / BLU-RAY releases? Time will tell, that's for certain. And thanks for the reply ☺️!

He's kidding about Moffat's level of tension over the show going down, now that it's done (or nearly so), to "merely" stroke level. They're two Scottish guys who've done a hell of a job, relaxing and kidding each other. And I don't recall any instance of Moffat slagging off Capaldi's looks. Citation or link?

No, he doesn't. He's stepping in to see that Moffat gets the credit for having laid the groundwork in the Capaldi run for a gender shifting regeneration of the Doctor with #13; they're friends, colleagues, and adults, but above all they're professionals, and they don't behave (in public, at any rate -- nobody's perfect!) like spiteful boys showing off how snarky they can be.

He's fooling no one, and the contempt he displays for anyone who does strikes me as unprofessional given it's many of the fans who are licence payers who have paid his salary, and is a bit of a slap in their face for the dedication they've shown to the series. If it wasn't for the fans he wouldn't have had the opportunity to work on a series that he has a fan himself has loved. His arrogance in taking them for granted the way he has does him no favours. Everyone can have their opinions on whether it's going to work or not but when you're in a position like his, a bit of diplomacy doesn't go amiss.
@ichabod1370
@ichabod1370 7 жыл бұрын
Lots of cheering too, actually; except in the haters' public echo chambers. There are bubbles, and there are bubbles . . . As for contempt, the only contempt I see is the contempt you show for a talented professional whose work you disparage with all the enthusiasm of -- mad, raving jealousy.
@robertmcelwaine7024
@robertmcelwaine7024 7 жыл бұрын
Ah, the jealousy card. The last bastion of someone without a legitimate argument which is up there with shouting that someone is a racist, sexist etc. Speaking objectively, as I've grown used to the idea of a woman being cast and I can't say it really bothers me so much now. I grew to like Michelle Gomez as Missy. However, it's still unprofessional and unwise to insult a portion of the audience who he essentially works for. The licence fee they pay goes towards his salary so I think he needs to display a bit more diplomacy and a little more respect and not take them for granted. I have sang Moffat's praises in the past, although I have been critical of some of his work but for the most part he's delivered the goods but I don't begrudge him the success that he has had. He deserves it but never the less., his attitude could do with an adjustment. If you work in a store and a customer complains about something, even if it is over something you regard as stupid, you don't insult them, and I know this having working in the customer service industry. It's how you potentially alienate and lose customers.

I like to congratulate Steve Moffat and the BBC and let's not forget new showrunner Chris Chibnall For once again creating a division amongst Doctor Who and its Fans ,Also I would like to praise the strategy for taking a huge bold step forward and 2,very large steps backwards!! BRAVO !!! Let's hear it for the BBC who somehow imagine that there is a hidden fanbase that are ready to devour Doctor Who and make it a ratings Monster! And let's hear it for the extra jobs that the BBC will create hiring people to control social media and collect all the hate mail. For the BBC to quote( "If you don't want to watch doctor who anymore WE THE BBC DO NOT CARE DONT WATCH") This remark is totally unprofessional and shows the questionable leadership for This TV Program. Anyone who voices that they would prefer The Doctor to be male is sarcastically torn apart and scrutinized by the " Political Correctness Bullies! First of all to still take any advice from Steve Moffat shows how naïve the bosses at the BBC are in trusting a word that man says when it comes to Doctor Who. The BBC have totally ignored the problem of why Doctor Who's merchandise sales and TV ratings sale have been going south year after year. The BBC have totally ignored the classic Doctor Who fan and adults that once watched doctor Who ,Fixing Doctor Who to make it appealing to these fans once again would guarantee merchandise sales to sell out quickly and TV ratings to also rise higher then ever were! However the BBC are more interested in their vanity and using Political correctnes as a vehicle to create a gimmick to catch that Imaginary Fan base that they think exists. OF COARSE FOR CURIOSITY REASONS PEOPLE WILL WATCH BUT WILL THE RATING'S AND IMAGINARY NEW FAN BASE BECOME LOYAL DOCTOR WHO FANS ?Will these new Female loving Doctor Who fans take the ratings higher then ever before? Change has been a very overrated reason for Doctor Who's Success through the years , If you really take a look at Doctor Who Since William Hartnell ,The Only really Changes have been the Actors and the theme music and the new production teams of coarse who bring in their own style and ideas but always kept the heart and foundation of Doctor Who The Very Same!The BBC's Propaganda machine would have you believe that Doctor Who goes through a complete change at every new Doctor and THAT IS JUST NOT ACCURATE AS TOO MUCH CHANGE IS WHAT WILL KILL DOCTOR WHO !One thing that is certain and that is that many current Doctor who fans still watched and suffered through the Moffat years because their hero was "The Doctor" and even though they hated the production they still Tuned in to see their hero The Doctor,That type of loyalty is what the BBC so underestimates and disrespects and only Time will tell as when the dusts settles and the HOOPLA and curiosity of the Doctor changing Genders is all over with,Will those former loyal fans that the BBC said they didn't care about really now matter?Or are rating so great because that imaginary fanbase has carried Doctor who and its ratings to the promise land and made Doctor Who a ratings block buster? We will see if Boldness= Genius or Boldness in this case equals Carelessness and a missed opportunity to finally set the ship right;

It is unprofessional and spitting in the face of fans who let's face it are licence payers and effectively pay their salaries. Whether you champion Jodie Whittaker or not, the sheer contempt the BBC and Moffat they have for anyone who's opinions differ from there's does them no favours. The series is either going to go in either direction in terms of it's ratings, and I'm going to try and approach her casting with an open mind and see what happens but right now I have to retain an air of scepticism as to whether it will pay off. If rumour are true as well, Chris Chibnall, wanted a woman cast in the role right from the off, and it's rather telling that he's cast Whittaker who was in his previous TV series Broadchurch. It strikes me that he's had her in mind right from the beginning. I'd like to think that Chibnall did audition men for the role as well, because I'd hate to think that he's arbitrarily cast her. Hopefully that won't be the case, and I might get a pleasant surprise and like her. Michelle Gomez after all grew on me as Missy who is the female incarnation of the Master, so who knows.

"Political Correctness Bullies!" says Buffalo Bill; here's a thing I've noticed about bullies in general (and believe me, we're been having a crash course in this here in the US lately, very educational): they spill out paragraphs and paragraphs of ranting to try to drown out everyone else much of it in SHOUTING mode. Me, I've enjoyed and admired Moffat's work, warts and all, and I'm grateful to have had that opportunity. Now do, please, continue SHOUTING. My say is said.

Well, it's a shame that he wouldn't have considered anyone else but Capaldi as well. I think it's always a good idea to consider other candidates. Capaldi has been great but not the very best that I've seen. Matt Smith has had the edge so the point is that someone else could have come along that would have blown our minds. With that in mind my point still stands. As for the ratings, I'm not so sure. There's some rabid fans are. I'd really like to see her casting work, especially as a fan because I don't want to see the series suffer but they are taking a gamble. There's no two ways about it. A bit off topic, one thing that I've been curious about, and I've yet to see it discussed anywhere is what's her costume going to be like. With it being a woman in the role it'll be interesting to see what that will be like. It was good what they did with Missy so I'm sure what they'll come up with will be equally as good.
