These 3rd Gen. Smith & Wesson pistols hold their value, and appear to only going up in collectability. Well done review. Thank you!

I purchased a stainless S&W 3913 with money from my first off-duty detail. It was my off-duty carry weapon for some years, and then my on-duty carry when I went into my District's plain-clothes Investigative Unit. I had to qualify with it every year, and I still have it.

The S&W 3913 is a beautiful firearm. My brother-in-law has one that is in beautiful condition. It is VERY thin and is SO EASY to manipulate the slide. Fantastic firearm. It's a total SHAME that almost no one makes a thin all-metal firearm like this anymore (the Kahr K9 and MK9 are the only ones I can think of). Thanks for sharing and making this video!

Nice finds! I put a 1989-90 3913 Lady Smith on layaway yesterday. It's clean and was well cared for. I just bought a rifle, so I couldn't quite swing buying it straight away, but I got something to look forward to next month!

Great gun! Overlooked gem! I have a 3914 DAO (blued version) that I use as my EDC. They are starting to get more attention now, as you mentioned. I preferred the DAO as it has no manual safety, making it even thinner. You do not need a sight pusher to adjust the rear sight for windage. Just loosen the set screw and the sight moves without needing a special tool. A light tap with a jewelers hammer will do it. You'll love that gun! Better than any striker fired gun on the market.
@stewb5203 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip on the rear sight !! and I agree about Hammer fired is 100% better than striker fired any day !! in my opinion !!

I’ve liked these S&Ws ever since 1988, Honolulu police used to carry the 5906 & the 6906, I like the 6906, they had so many different ones!! The lady Smith was 8 rounds also, I have the Shield Cali Version with the LCI on the top of the slide, & a Safety, 150 rounds at the range 0 malfunctions, James Yeager said he put 15k through his shield..Nice S&W Btw

Great find that 3913. I have a 3913 NL. 3rd gen Smiths are pretty much among my favorite pistols. And I’ve got a compact Bersa TPR9c I’ve shot a few times that’s now basically been relegated to life in a drawer. I continue to but Smiths though. My favorite (of mine) is an old 4566 TSW

Local shops just want to make 100, 200 on a gun . So generally they low balled the owner and now it’s price is a gift . I recently found a 5906 in 100% condition make in 2000 with is after mass production ended in 1999 for 399 . It’s like they didn’t know what they had . Also found a 645 the greatest smith semi for 700 . The first smith 45 and Miami Vice pistol . Local shops there are treasures since everyone now wants plastic , micro and 9

Hey thats my gun. Actually it could be, I had one many years ago. It was my very first gun. Don't remember why I sold it, but it was in emaculate condition, I think I only fired maybe 300 rounds through it if that. Its one of two guns I still regret selling till this day. I own a S&W M&P 2.0 9mm now, its a great gun, but its not the same. That gun was just perfect for conceal carry, slim, well balanced, accurate, reliable, everything you could want in a small package. My only issue with it was it had a disconnect mag design. Gun could not fire if mag was removed, and personally I think its a huge liability. In an unfortunate self defense situation anything could happen, you could be fighting for the gun, or you could be running and drop the mag, if that happens you gun just went from a self defense weapon to a lump of steel and aluminum in a flash. Dont know why they thought its a great feature on a tactical firearm a which many police departments carried. Perps trying to grab an officers gun is a scenario that happens more frequently than people think, and if the mag release is accidentally engaged during the scuffle again the officers gun renders inoperable and useless. That one round in the chamber could be the round that saves your life and making a gun that is incapable of firing that round was a horrible call by S&W.
