Don’t settle for cheap paint or primer. Use duratec high build primer. Duratec will fill any scratches, nicks or whatever you have. Also duratec primer & Awlcraft2000 are my go to for whaler painting

I went all the way down to the glass on mine, time-consuming, but worth it.

All this work and steps you went through……just put our 3M mask on and grab your angle grinder with a 35 grit disc and you would have been done in 1 hour ( all the way to glass) Not being that guy, just trying to help you and the next guy. God bless you and yours

here is the problem. the old whalers are made with such thin fiberglass that there is no room for a mistake. the foam in the hulls are what gives the integrity. burn through = repair = time.

Are you still using the other hardening agents for polyester & then applying pva?
