@NihadH6 жыл бұрын
bernard_hossmoto They are not solid portal axles. Pinzgauer has a special independent suspension design (both front and rear) with double coil spring suspension. It has a unique massive central tranamission tunnel which also serves as a part of the suspension. The entire transmission and suspension design was optimized for high speed driving on uneven terrain while having maximum ground clearance at the same time. These vehicles can travel so fast on uneven ground and still maintain good ground contact, that most typical all terrain passenger vehicles (for example Land Rover Defender) would lose control at such speeds and swerve off the desired trajectory. This ability is why the vehicle carries the name of a thoroughbred Austrian horse species.

Unimogs today are ALL over 7.5 to category -- so how to compare? A truck with 2.3 meters height to a truck with 3 meters? A truck with 235/85-16 to a truck with 20“ wheels like 12.5“??? A Mercedes G even in military category had a 2.8l cdi engine and lot of power, a Pinzgauer 710 had roughly 80 HP. If you need to go “fast“ a Pinz is not an option. So in which regard is it better now?
