পাসপোর্ট, ভিসা, জন্ম নিবন্ধনসহ অপরিহার্য বিষয়ে, অ্যামেরিকান-বাংলাদেশি সেবাপ্রার্থীর সংখ্যা দিন দিন বাড়ছে। চাহিদা অনুযায়ী অফিসের পরিসর ছোট ও কর্মকর্তা কম হওয়ায় দ্রুততম সময়ে সেবা দেয়া যাচ্ছে না। তাছাড়া অফিসে পর্যাপ্ত টয়লেট, নামাজের স্থান, খাবারের সুযোগ এবং পার্কিংয়ের যথেষ্ট সুবিধাও নেই। গ্রাহকদের এসব ভোগান্তি বিবেচনায় আগামী পয়লা অক্টোবর নতুন জায়গায় অফিস স্থানান্তর করা হচ্ছে বলে জানিয়েছেন নিউ ইয়র্কের বাংলাদেশের কনসাল জেনারেল।
