Stitch is awesome! What makes stitch so good is not just his playing, but it’s teaching… And what makes his teaching so good, is his passion for music and guitar and his concern for other guitarist to better understand! Love you Stitch, been watching for years ! Doug from Denver

I really appreciate that YT algorithm brought me to your channel years ago, your lessons are always inspiring for grabbing the guitar and play and put you in a Jam mindset. Thanks for your work! 🤙🤙

I appreciate your videos, Ian, thank you. Do you have an equivalent method for teaching phrasing? Playing all the right notes can still sound pretty lame if one doesn’t have a good sense of how to create musical sentences and paragraphs that tell a story.

Now really convinced! Thank you.

Love the enthusiasm. However................ for me improvisation is designed to move away from the predictable patterns that you mention. Music should have a lot of surprises. So yep ,learn the patterns ,but then bust 'em up in interesting ways.

Another way I learned lead, was to play the vocal melody, or find a part of it, to keep returning to.
@StichMethodGuitar23 сағат бұрын
I teach that on my channel as well, but, just let you know it still is the same perspective happening. The vocal melody consists nearly of all the chord tones sewn together with the scale. It’s all the same thing

I’m the frustrated guitarist. I have watched this and am wondering why you aren’t using the E shape pentatonic and the A Shape pentatonic shapes for the 4and 5 chord. I am missing something again. 🤦♂️ such a great channel.
@StichMethodGuitar13 сағат бұрын
That is an option: to change pentatonics with the chord changes but only an option. You can stay in the one pentatonic and hit the chord tones as well. Honestly watch my Blues Primer Playlist. It will ALL MAKE SENSE. I promise

Nice vid, however no intervalic sense or knowing the fretboard? You will conform to the extent of your scale/ chord knowledge. Clapton said to the effect, you should sing with your guitar.. but ya this is a musical zone for blues playing.

A) this is video about the perspective of how it works and B) look at any other videos on my channel. It is ALL about intervals and fretboard knowledge. Welcome to my channel
