I used to hate this song. It felt so arrogant to think abosut forgiving, so idiotic to think this pain ist good for anything. Now I'm in another place, watching this full of tears and relief. Thank you.

This proves once again why Stick to your Guns are one of the most important names of hardcore/punk music. I wouldn't hesitate to put them alongside the likes of NOFX, Bad Religion, Have Heart, or Bane...

"The Reach For Me: Forgiveness Of Self" I know the things I've done, and most I'm proud but some I'm not And it's those that speak the loudest, that replay and keep me up Broken and alone to face this on my own And if I can't learn from what I've done, the pain I've felt has been for nothing. All for nothing And if I can't forgive myself for the pain I've caused it will always haunt me. Oh I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I don't want a second chance. I just want to understand What led me down this path and how I can lead myself back I'll face this on my own And if I can't learn from what I've done, the pain I've felt has been for nothing. All for nothing And if I can't forgive myself for the pain I've caused it will always haunt me. Oh I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I'm so sorry And if I can't learn from what I've done, the pain I've felt has been for nothing. All for nothing And if I can't forgive myself for the pain I've caused it will always haunt me I'm so sorry

Alright, I'm probably wrong but, the first guy he meets is in pain and hurting? The second is a lady, is she insecure? Just can't get out of the box she/the world has put her in? The third one is beating himself up over what he's done. And Jesse is finally having to try and forgive himself of the things he's done in the past? I'm just confused and I love it.
@AnjaFromMars6 жыл бұрын
maybe it gets a bit clearer when you look at the credits at the end. the guy screaming is "anger", the woman is "sorrow" and the guy beating himself is "punishment". I guess it could symbolize the different stages that the protagonist went through , for example in a relationship. (my interpretation)

How can a band cure depression? Like I get distracting you from it and shit but really, CURE it?

Tommy Green Lyrics can have a massive impact on your mindset. The song or band itself will not cure your depression, but it can change the way you see things. Or show you that you are not alone with the hate and the pain. That alone can be enough to kick you in the right direction.
