3:59- That hairstyle has symbolism too. When she throws off her crown, she looks at it slightly. In Frozen 2, she says that she took an oath to do what she thought was best at the time which was to leave and keep her friends, family, and everyone she loved/ruled safe. Throwing away the crown to me meant that she knew she did her duty to the crown and can now toss it away and start a new chapter. Her hair braid was still knotted, meaning she was still queen(until she abdicated in Frozen 2) and she was free only under the condition that she was alone.

This is the equivalent of a book saying: “The door was blue.” and a teary-eyed teacher rambling for an hour on just that one sentence.

2:37 i will add some something: at that moment elsa says: "the cold never bothered me anyway"....which means she didn't need that cape for protection agaisnt the cold.

also the cape is purple, which symbolizes royalty, so when she tosses it off, she's letting go of her royal duties.

The plot had some awkward moments but they did nail this scene with the music and visual details. Great work for spotting them.

I don't think I ever noticed the hairstyle at the beginning being her mothers, we could also mention that the entire outfit is not only restrictive but it does also represent the position that she once felt stifled in. I am surprised, that you didn't note how at the end her out fit does still have the train. I find that interesting that when she literally creates a dress for herself it still has a symbol of royalty in it, but she herself believes that she's not ever going to return to Arrendelle, so what is she declaring that she is queen of? Herself is an obvious answer, but I'm not sure if it's the right one. It could be a sign that some of her baggage she's unwittingly still carrying with her, which makes sense because in the story shutting herself off from her past is not the complete answer to her problem, she still needs her family, and she still hasn't learned to love, and she can't do that locked up in her own ice castle.

Your analysis is much more valid now with Frozen 2. You said her new dress has a symbol of royalty and you said what is she the queen of if not Arendelle. She’s now the queen of the enchanted forest and it’s people. Great points!

Wonderful video & explanation. Yet I wonder at what age little kids, especially girls, start to understand metaphor or symbolism. Although it seems even animals recognize when something in their life needs to change, if only to find shelter or eat. The first time I heard this song I immediately thought of The Beatles' song "Let It Be" with its similar message.

It's just the direction, Arendelle was actually near the water, so it can't be on this height

There's some really weird esoteric stuff going on on Elsa too. Her crown looks like the one all seeing eye. Same thing will her brooch that holders her cloak in place and the rays of light that seem to go downward from it. IJS.
