Here is a past video I forgot to share from July 13th, 2024. After such a sad and scary day, this visit was comforting, especially seeing them side by side.
Stickmaster Shadow arrived with a stick delivery and does a full 360° turn to place it in just the right spot. He performs a little nest-keeping and then calls it a day.
He leaves and joins Jackie on their favorite Roost tree for the night. They sit shoulder to shoulder and preen their feathers together.🌙🌲🦅🦅
Then overnight, the night-shift Nest Inspector arrived for a brief check-up. Fiona, the nocturnal flying squirrel! Isn't she a cutie?! She has still made visits this week so not to worry, our neighborhood critters are still safe from the nearby wildfires. 🐿🌲🙏
I hope you enjoy the video while our Love Birds are away from camera views and I know we are all missing their shenanigans. They typically return to frequent visits in the Fall October/November, when their breeding instincts and hormones start kicking in again.
