seen slf in concert in the early 80's they were brilliant and there were lots of people wanting to speak to them after the concert. they told us to wait a few minutes and they would go around to the back stage door, everyone thought they were just saying it and they could make a quick get away, but true to their word they waited for ages and met everyone of us and were great down to earth lads. a fantastic night i will always remember.

the edge means so much to me i was a punk in the 70 80 growing up in a mining village in yorkshire. i want this played at my funeral hopefully a long way from now, still only 42 . nice one for sharing this top bands clips.

I got them to play that song in SF. It was the best concert ever. I held up a sign that said "PLAY HARP" and Jake honored it and played it perfect.

mate that intro nearly killed me..... down the front at brixton early 90s...... thought i could still mosh with the best of 'em..... jake comes on, launches into the opening bars of Alt Uls..... bosh... it was then i realised my moshing days were over... time to start standing at the back, nursing a lager and nodding appreciatively.......

Heard them live at Manchester Poly in 1979 (I think) when I was 20. I'm now 62 and I still love them. "Inflammable Material" is a brilliant album.

I was going to say, that when I just heard the opening of Alternative Ulster, I got this rush that went from my toes to my head, just like in my youth. I sure fucking miss those days...what fucking brilliant bands we had then.

Yeah. Dolph was with Tom Robinson Band before SLF. Brilliant drummer . I think the guitarist is Dave Sharpe from The Alarm

If they ain't playin akl then let me know and if u wanna come 2 Chch then we look afta u - if u can stand the cold :-) I can't wait - i saw them in 78 before inflammable material was released - and now 30 years later......its gonna rok

Irony and Influence? Saw a guy at Marley Park last week with an SLF tattoo on his ar. I ALMOST went up to him to chat about the huge and FUCKIN OBVIOUS influence of SLF onto Green Day, then they started up on, well, any of their songs... If only Jake.

Where and when was this recorded? This sounds amazing, I'd love to have these on mp3 to listen to. Pretty new fan here...got into them though Foxton, being a big Jam fan and all. I love Jake's voice here at this time, it sounds so perfect, better than in the early years IMO. Not to slag off his vox then at all, that is.

This footage is great, despite of them being a bit older. i don`t like their new things as much a i love their firts 4 albums (right before the break up; still they have some good songs. i personally like the dirty and rought sound and hate the over-polished studio sounds. harp is a great song. Notice that Foxton (ex The Jam) gives a brilliant bass line, I mean, he is a great bass player. its a shame when you can not hear the bass, but that does not happen here, i love it. Miss his Rickenbacker!
