I am more than convinced that God's APPROVAL is on Yoruba traditional religion and African spirituality as a whole, if not, their should be no one left in the belief. The hypocrites in the other adopted religions keep and had been advocating for years that "Ki Olorun pa ina adebo re" while they are secretly patronizing and openly practicing at least one form of ebo or another till date. Honestly, our people had been brainwashed and are finding it had to emancipate themselves from mental slavery possibly because of STIGMATIZATION & the unanswered question of HOW WILL I SURVIVE?

So sorry to hear that in Nigeria, Ile Ifa, that this happens. Here in the diaspora, we revere Ifa. In my culture, the elders say: “ wanti wanti can’t get it and getti getti nuh want it”.

where are you from. I think I heard Bob Marley sing that

@@proverbalizer I am from Jamaica 🇯🇲. Yes Bob did sing about, it is an old Jamaican proverb, we all grew up hearing.

@@teelee1714 Ok cool. Do many people in JA like Ifa? I am not aware of it being so popular there like Cuba, Trinidad and Brazil. I have also heard some people talk bad about Obeah, with the same kind of negative stigmatization

@@proverbalizer Obeah is a mixture of African spirituality from many tribes. It was what helped us to gain our freedom. We used it to defeat the Europeans. It is so powerful that that our last colonizer, the British, passed a law to ban it’s use. We were then forced to go in hiding with our practice.

Each of the countries you mentioned have a different colonial history and so their display of Ifa will look different. We all tried to hold on to as much of our African spirituality as much as possible. This newer generation is looking to Africa for the authenticity of Ifa. So much that we are paying thousands of dollars to get initiated in Africa. So to see, in the birthplace of Ifa, the lack of respect is hard.

It's obvious that our overly religious people do not read or reflect on verses in their scripture. One says , "broad is the way that leadeth to destruction and many will be there. But narrow is the way that leadeth to life and few shall find it." (Math 7:14). Isn't it obvious from this the path that most people in the world would follow. Our people deserve a lot of pity because most are in a state of blindness. The Irunmoles are working on their deliverance. Some of them will shed tears or nearly go crazy the day they realize the level of deception in those foreign religions. Our people are in big trouble.
