Jealous of the manual carb. I like mtronic and autotime... but I LOVE tuning by hand. Now if the local stihl dealer will just get my PTO side bearing they were supposed to order in. Lost a plastic bearing cage.. went through transfers. Every other part I ordered online is here waiting. Only "real" damage was the piston crown so now i'm going to give the pop-up piston a go.

Does the 661 come with a baffle in exhaust? Or did you take it out? I didn’t see one.

@@Surtac100 there is no baffle in the exhaust, just a screen when its in factory form. And yes, west coast saw makes one for the 066

You need to show the time difference between between stock vs bark box in the same pice of wood back to back. Other wise it’s just extra noise. Preferably in a stack of 2x4” glued together for consistency.

@@bigbeef8935 slightly - i intentionally chose the 661 instead of the 661 M tronic so I could use the manual carb. I can tell you I did not have to change much - this saw is overall awesome to me. Its the Lamborghini of the saw world and Ive ran many.

I've got them on my 660 and 460 running square ground chain. The 460 is twice as fast as the old set up.... big chips. I'll get an aftermarket air filter on ... that is supposed to help as well. Be well scary.

@@twelvetwenty-two353 Hey 12/22, I really really really like it ...however its a huge rabbit whole ... if you're commercial I'd buy a simington 451C ..buy square ground chain ..all off madsens1 and get into it. If you're just doing some fire wood I'd get some hexa chain and file from stihl. I've got mates who are interested ..but they can't keep it sharp ..its an art form and I just end up being their bitch all the time. see swisse stihl fan and guilty of treeson on you tube. These guy's are professional loggers / arbourists and even treeson has to get his mate Jed to do it for him. When I get a "God" chain sorted it's incredible ..I'm 30%+ faster through the stump. Good luck

yes, not by much though. If you're familiar with adjusting a carburetor you'll dial it right in easily. the C-M model will do it automatically

Did take the rakers down in between cuts? That kind of pull in is usually from a hungry chain. If that was just from the muffler that's very impressive!

West coast saws that make the bark box says I believe 3-4 cuts and it will recalibrate itself. Basically just bolt it on and the saw takes care of the rest. I just bought a 661 last week and I am ordering the bark box and better air filter
