I have a Stihl KM130R. My parents have a milwaukee string trimmer (same batteries as our power tools). I used it the other day and used a fully charged 8.0 battery in about 20 minutes doing light trimming around the house. With the KM130R, I can go about 40 minutes on a tank when cutting overgrown grass that is 3 feet tall around our shop (really working it hard). Batteries might be nice for some things, but if you have to really push a trimmer hard, they won’t last long at all. Gas makes the most sense to me.

Thanks for watching! You’re right about needing a good gas trimmer for heavy long grass. The battery power doesn’t pack enough punch and the batteries go dead quickly on heavy max power.

The battery’s should last many many years. Think of it as fuel for years. Gas here in Canada is more money it’s like $6.25 a gallon and going up. Plus the mix. I figure my crew will save $1500 in fuel. But maintenance will be a huge factor in saving money also no vibrations is a huge factor

Yes, I agree with the maintenance is cheaper as there is none. The quiet sound alone is worth it. But I have already bricked one $400 battery the AP500. Luckily it was still under warranty and I got another at no charge. Thanks for watching!

I have the FSA 135 over 2 years and have it used sometimes very aggressively so far it never fail. I also have used it with all batteries from AP200 to AP500S but I feel it is better balanced with AP300S. I have used it mostly with mulching blade never have any problem.

I love the fs131 for heavy and normal trimming but in Florida we like the Husqvarna 520 trimmer and 325 split boom edger very light for me in hot weather I'm solo 2 batteries for the trimmer and 2 for the edger last all day but for the whole set up cost 1900.00 dollars worth every penny take care 😊

Great comment. My set up was about $1,700. Thanks for watching!

In my opinion Gas is better because you can use it more and it’s powerful and I love the Stihl FS 131 R

I agree. Gas is the way to go. Thanks for watching!

I would love something more reliable than gas. We have somewhere around 40 stihl pieces of equipment and when they don't start well it really gets old, and employees get really frustrated. I agree that it's still expensive, but I look forward to when it makes more sense in 5ish years.

Thanks for watching! You’re right the technology isn’t quite there yet and it’s too cost prohibitive for a large fleet.

I do have the Stihl 135 in the bicycle handle configuration about 3 years, in did it have performed great however the downside side is with out doubt the batteries, make absolutely non sense been sale at price of gold. I am just a home owner if I with go for 8 hours work and not have a power outlet I with need about 9 AP500 S batteries here in Portugal cost between 470 to 500 Eur. Is an outrage. For commercial use I think battery power still light years away.

How much is the 135 battery operated brushcutter. With a battery and charger. Do you need to purchase anything else with it?
@KeystoneLawnCare Жыл бұрын
The FSA 135 was about $400. You’ll need a charger for about $150 and a battery for about $300 - $400. Thanks for watching!

I'd go Gass. But battery so nice not dealing with carburetors
@KeystoneLawnCare Жыл бұрын
You’re right. Battery is more convenient but gas is the way to go.

Will the battery operated cut berry vines? With an extra battery it'll work an hr and 1/2?
@KeystoneLawnCare11 ай бұрын
The battery only lasts about 10 to 15 minutes at full power. It might cut through one vine but not multiple knotted up together. It's not really that tough. It's a more light duty machine for light maintenace.

@@KeystoneLawnCare is that with the 500 battery? Or biggest battery they have?
@KeystoneLawnCare11 ай бұрын
Yes, the AP500 is the biggest. Even that doesn’t last very long. You’ll have to have two, one charging while using another.

Watch out for the greenies - even suggesting gas might be better makes them cry.

Thanks for watching! Gas is better, but I do enjoy the easy to use battery operated weed eater.
