@@TonysTractorAdventure It's really well put together and fits my Husqvarna 20" Rancher bar and chain well. I had to step drill out the hole to be a bit bigger in the bar for the chain tensioner peg to fit through in the clutch cover, but other than that there was nothing wrong with how the parts fit together. I just ordered a large tree felling bar spike kit for the saw so that I can have spikes on both side of the bar to make it easier to rock the saw while cutting through thick pieces of logs.

Haven't used it yet. Had a fuel mix snafu amd had a hard time getting it to run. Once I figured that out, I let it burn a tank and a half to break it in. I've got about 15 feet of 40" oak and 30 of 30" oak to cut up. Hoping to get a bunch of live edge tables and stools out of them. Trees been sitting there for two years. Finally able to cut them up! 😀

I've put together about a dozen of the farmertec ms660 clones. They're a pretty decent saw. I replaced the decompression buttons with a real Stihl part, because the farmertec button was garbage, but the rest of the parts were decent. I never had any complaints from the people I sold them to. The one I kept has lots of hours on an Alaskan mill and still works good.
@TonysTractorAdventure2 жыл бұрын
This one comes mostly assembled as much as any out of the box chainsaw. The decompression button seems to be good quality, but time will tell.
@waynejanzen93462 жыл бұрын
@@TonysTractorAdventure I built the saws over a couple of years. Some of the first ones I built had bad cylinder castings, which farmertec replaced, and poorer quality plastic parts. The quality on each new batch of saws I ordered got better and better, to the point where the decompression button was the only issue. I stopped building them a couple of years ago. It wouldn't surprise me if the quality has improved even more since then and the problem with the decompression button has been fixed.

Farmertec make Stihl/Husq knockoffs that are similar to this one. I've looked at buying the real deal, but I haven't been able to justify the name brand price either. Looks like it was able to make wood glitter. Will be curious to see how long it lasts. I'll probably end up with a clone as well.

Needs a little better tuning on the car if you can hear it sputtering. It's not supposed to be doing that under power especially bogging down that much. I don't know if this thing could handle it or not but a good porting and jetting would probably make it run about right, or like a saw should anyways. That thing is bogging bad and the chain speed is severely low
