This machine is a monster. I jus got mine with the string trimmer, edger and hedge trimmer attachments. I've used them all and nothing I've came across stood a chance against this thing. BEAST!!!

I just bought mine a few weeks ago. Man.. what a prestigious experience. Ace hardware made me sign some sort of sale form. All sales are final and you are dealing with Stihl if any problems should arise. I bought with confidence and really loving the machine. I knew that since I use it professionally id definitely want the top model which only costs about 100 more than the low end model which is the KM 91. I use the 131 in grass and weeds that are up to my belt line so I definitely utilize all the power that the 131 has to offer.

ive had mine for 5 years now and it has been just perfect... no issues whatsoever with it.. i have the trimmer blower and edger for it and use em all... its been an excellent tool to have.. only one engine plus my mower to maintain.. it is definitely a powerhouse... I use a pretty think line in my trimmer and rarely do i ever have to really punch the power.. the blower is a tornado... really happy wit hthe turbine style blower head.. after 5 years its still really easy to start even in chilly weather... I have run it on MotoMixx STIHL fuel since it was new..

My 131 is 2+ years old-still operates flawlessly-complete beast.I use a 91 octane non ethanol w/ the mix,very easy. Thanks for the video.

GReviewz Not many reviews on this unit so I’m sure it’s especially helpful to those in the market.I’m sure it’s more than I need for my practical use but better to have more power and not need it than need it and not have it.Oh-ask Santa(wife) for the STIHL back pack blower-BR 700,I got one and it is AWESOME.

Would love to know how your finding it now? I've had nothing but issues with mine... 9 visits to the shop in 7 months.. 2 new carbs fitted.. still issues... machine was replaced... same.issues all.over again. Floods itself if it's "to hot"... in an Australian winter 😂 burnt out clutches, multiple valve adjustments.. the first one at but 7 weeks old, the plastic fittings continuously wearing out. Plus other minor issues.

Wow sir. Sounds like you’ve had a. Nightmare to say the least. I am sorry you have had so many problems with your units. You may want to consider a traditional 2 stroke unit. I’ve had mine for near a year with no issues what so ever. I run only ethanol free gas. I use stihl oil etc. did a proper break in. How cold is an Australian winter?

I got this one, never one problem in 3 1/2 years. Used it in the cold winters in Massachusetts and hot summers in Georgia. Make sure you using the correct fuel.

Thanks for watching. I’ll be honest with you. I like the unit but I would not buy it again. The thing has tons of power and starts every time. The problem I have with it is the weight,modulation of power and valve adjustment…I have multiple attachments for it including the 180 degree hedge trimmers, bed redifiner and tiller. I love the last two but really don’t like the hedge trimmer. With this unit power is all or nothing and many review guys say that.. when I’m using the hedge trimmer it’s sounds like I’m at wide open throttle the whole time. But when I’m tilling that is fine bcuz I want full power..about every three months I have to adjust the valves. It’s annoying because you’ll be doing a job and the thing keeps turning off when you idle it. Many videos out there how to adjust the valves…about a 10 min job..but like I said it’s very powerful and I like it. If I was to do it again I’d get biggest power head that isn’t a 4mix engine… I think it’s like the 94 r

That was really what I was concerned about with the motor, if it would be too powerful sometimes and if the valves would make it not as good at lower rpms. I think I might go with the 94r now. Have a 91 R with most all the attachments going to get the 131R next. Love it 5 years old and still like new. Get a Darwin grip 5.0.

Toby Lerone to my knowledge the attachments are interchangeable. It’s a different Motörhead but the shaft and attatmebt point should be the same!

I have both echo and stihl in my garage. I like both brands. The reason I went with the stihl was because all the head to head reviews said the stihl 131r our performed the echo as far as power goes. I like in nc and we have some really hard clay soil and I figured extra power would help me out.

What's the fuel to oil ratio

It literally takes the same oil/fuel mixture as 2strokes. I believe 50:1.

Antonio Claudio Michael you have a good point. 50:1 is what mine takes. When you buy though make sure you ask salesman they do change from time to time...

Not impressed. This is my second Stihl power head and I went for the more powerful as I am a contractor. I’ve had it for 18 months and it’s been well maintained however in recent times it has played up to the point that it has become so unreliable that it’s costing me money (lost income and repair costs). The problem, after much fault finding and replacing plugs, filters, has been identified as the ignition coil which auto tunes the engine…. I’ve been advised that this is a new system, introduced with this engine and is no where as robust or reliable as the old system it replaced. A new coil costs $200Aus plus labour to fit. Will I buy another Stihl….. no, despite having 5 kombi attachments (which is how Stihl and other manufacturers ‘lock’ you into their tools). I MUST have reliable equipment and it’s not the case with this new model of power-head.
