Elevator looks pretty jacked, hopefully you can locate something.

Ya it is. Iv found a couple other old farm elevators close by and im thinking of try another one but putting a small gas engine on it with a rubber belt so maybe it will slip instead of tearing stuff up? Still just considering all options. Thanks for watching, Take Care !!!

I have that same elevator. #1 you need a gas/electric motor. I ended up converting too a belt and since then its works good. Cost me $1500 to convert to belt. The conveyor is just as valuable as the splitter for your time. Its the best $1500 you can spend. A splitter is close to 10k..you can't beat the value of that conveyor with a belt. I move 200 full cord a yr with it

Thanks for the info! Ya I sure wish I had put a small motor on it to run a rubber belt so the belt would slip instead of breaking stuff. Im going to be showing in a video coming out this week I got another conveyor, almost the exact same and its getting a motor and rubber belt/pully system put on it next week. Thanks again Take Care !!!

I have the same Stihl - semi-chisel chain rips through wood. Same splitter on order.

Nice. Hard to beet the 462 ! She’s a ripper. Iv been away from the wood yard for a few weeks working on other projects. But I can’t wait to get back there to run the splitter. Your going to love your splitter when you get it!!! Thanks for watching! Take Care!!!

462 is rippin as usual! Yep, that elevator is scrap. Or spare parts for another. Like you said convert the next one to a belt that will slip. Take care Don!👍🏻

Some sort of pto slip clutch or shear pin is what you want on that type of conveyor. Otherwise if you get another one like it, convert it to run a a small has engine.
@outdoorswiththisguy1950 Жыл бұрын
Yes sir. I did get another one and had a small gas motor put on it. It will be comeing out in a video this week. Thanks, Take Care !!!

@outdoorswiththisguy1950 dang typos. Meant gas engine. No idea what a "has" engine uses for fuel. LOL!

@@thefirewooddoctor lol. I just saw your slash pile on Facebook, dang you do make a lot!
@thefirewooddoctor Жыл бұрын
@outdoorswiththisguy1950 a lot of it was from bark, the rest is slash. Junk oak going through the 12-way wedge makes an insane amount of debris/slash. If had the vertical splitter, I could split around the junk and keep things tidy.

Man that hurts on that conveyor. If you could find you another one and put an gas motor on it where you could control it better, that would be the way to go. Or like me, i am saving my firewood sales to get at least a 24" conveyor. Nice 462. Rippin some chips.
@outdoorswiththisguy1950 Жыл бұрын
Craig thats what I told my wife yesterdaylol. If I had just put a gas motor on it with a rubber belt maybe it would just have slipped the belt instead of taring stuff up? But hind sight is 20 20. Thanks for watching Craig good to hear from you . Take Care !!!

Yeah that isnwhat our old hay conveyor did loading bales into the shed and our old corn conveyor. Had different size pulleys and it would slip before tearing things up. Hope you get it fixed or find another good used one. Have a great day!

hi there new here just checking other channels out . i like alot of what you do but i think it may help to make a big heavy table and get rid of your log lift and the wing of your off split tray , i promote a table method for splitting , here is why , you have already loaded the rounds in your tractor bucket why dump them only to reload them , then do what i call Wood Splitter Merry Go Round , i am telling this as an idea you should do what works best for you . the speed of wood splitting doesn't come from the splitter but from the maximum efficiency of input and final destiny location . good splitting , john

Bummer on the conveyor. I’m no expert but I’m with you. It’s probably not worth fixing. I would definitely look into a slip clutch or belt drive if you do. Take care Don👊🏻

Yes it is Todd. Im still looking around for differnt options, for now I think Ill just be splitting into the tractor or skid loader bucket then dumping into the bunker? Thanks for watching Todd, Take Care !!!

If that is what you call a bunch of scrap, wait until you move up in splitter and run the 12-way wedge like I do or the box wedge.
@outdoorswiththisguy1950 Жыл бұрын
Its just more than what Im use too from my old box store splitter. Id love to get a box wedge splitter some day. Thanks for watching , Take Care !!!

@outdoorswiththisguy1950 fot the big monster wood, I'd love to have a box wedge too. Is a serious pain to do.the monster and ginormous rounds on splittets like ours.
