Had an 880 a few years back. It lasted me a whole month, even running their pre-mix. Welded the piston right to the cylinder. I couldn’t get any warranty help either. So that is the condensed version of how I bought my first Husqvarna 3120 and 372. Still running both. I have such a bad taste in my mouth about Stihl… don’t think I would take a free one after that deal. A $2000 power head should last more than a month, but because they deemed it commercial I was screwed.
@thefirewooddoctor2 жыл бұрын
You should've had at least a 6mo warranty for "commercial" use. If going to burn up an expensive powerhead, might as well get the Farmertec-Holzfforma clone the 880.
@FrozenCrapholeDweller2 жыл бұрын
@@thefirewooddoctor Pretty much all I got from Stihl was an empty wallet and the middle finger. It’s been many years and that saw has been in landfill for so long that it’s probably decomposed, so I’m not looking for anything from those people. They said that the failure was not attributable to a defect in materials or workmanship. Not sure what else it would have been attributable to. The good news is that I have run my Husqvarna 3120 constantly for more than 5 years now and find that it likes the higher revs better anyways. It is a monster and have even had my local saw shop do a couple of things to it. The owner of the shop can’t believe that a saw that big is my “daily driver” and wants a profit sharing with my chiropractor, but I don’t find that it bothers me.

I thought you supposed to split the real stringy stuff in super cold weather
@InTheWoodyard2 жыл бұрын
Cold does help wood split easier.
@craigwilson95602 жыл бұрын
Elm would have been great to split in this weather.

Good news and bad news! Found a strap to extend the waist strap on my safety chaps! Bad news is is that the doc says no firewood because of car crash injuries probably for another week. Been a week and a half already and bored to tears looking at the walls!

Rest up and just watch you tube! You can see all kinds of new toys you have to buy! I sprained my ankle 3 weeks ago and seems to heal slower than when I broke my leg. Getting older sucks.....

@@stephenjambard64, the x-ray showed early signs of arthritis! I'm only 46! But also been driving truck for 19yrs and the back has taken a lot. Had a slight sprain in my right ankle but was able to "walk it off" after a few days. Luckily no compression fractures per the x-ray! Was a very hard hit. Was stopped for traffic at a red light on an off-ramp. The guy rammed us hard at a good 40mph. Chris knows the exit. Hwy 41 southbound Winchester Rd exit. Took at least 22min for the state patrol to arrive!

@@ChrisLascari, the early signs of arthritis explains a few things, such as having to do physical labor to keep the body moving well. Sitting around and things tighten up.

Definitely not a rpm saw. I beat if dogged in to a 4 foot stump it just eat it up. Love a big say when the dogs are in and your not holding it up. Both of my husky have big dogs. Great video you guys stay warm out there.

@Dans house of smoke and outdoors, thank you very much! Yeah I will get to try it out on 4 foot rounds for firewood and for slabbing this spring.

@@craigwilson9560, outstanding! I've got a 661 and always take the gauges below the correct level. You don't want a big-inch saw running at full RPM continuously without much load on it. Oh, and I feel your back pain cutting with that saw, I experience the same thing with the 661. lol
@rustinloverink46912 жыл бұрын
The way that saw sounds and acts like it needs to be tuned send it to Buck in he'll turn it up and make it run right didn't sound like it was opening up right .
