Motoseal has not failed me yet, i even use it in some none two stroke application's with success its pretty good stuff. There are a few good brand's Motoseal Three bond 1184 Hondabond and yamabond all gas resistant and a must when assembling two stroke anything ie power equipment dirt bike's or snowmobiles. as always enjoy the content take care.

It’s amazing how some manufacturers price parts. That’s why we have become a “throw away” society. I’m in the outboard business and the other day I have two plastic throw away filters that look the same, one is $6.50 the other is $24.50. I cut them apart. The only difference is the cheaper one has a finer screen in it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

i've had good success with the Hyway big bore kit I fitted to an MS660, it did 3 years of hard labour after that, the owner was not good at cleaning filters or mixing fuel. So I thought it did well, after 10 tanks or so. Call me old fashioned, but I always run the saws through a couple of heat cycles before I start working them...and they do get better if run in I reckon. Just my 2c. I think you hit the nail on the head- it'll live to see another day versus getting filed in the round file cabinet. I have this conversation all the time with customers who are price sensitive or flat unable to afford otherwise.

@@richardflagg3084 thanks Bud I appreciate your time. It belongs to a customer and only has a couple hours on it. His "kid" ran straight gas and killed it. Soo, he took it to the Stihl dealer who gave him the bad news concerning warranty lol. Maybe I'll try Bailey's?

I used a proline coil for my 395 took a little fitting but I think it works better than stock

I use 1184 to put my cases together. I like Stihl seals. The have dust covers that do not come on AM seals, but they are expensive. The ones for my MS 250 kit cost over $40 for a set.

I have to say that to me really resembles the Hyway kits. Make me wonder but far as seals and bearings ive had no issues. Just not sure it's much different than Hyway!

Do you think it might run better after broken in? That's my guess. Maybe check to see how the saw is running after a year or so.

Permatex ultra black is Poulan OEM sealant. Stihl used Dirko HT but switched to Pactan 6075.

@@richardflagg3084 i have yet to use Hondabond but have heard that its great stuff. I use Reinzosil or Dirko HT. Some guys use Permatex Motoseal, Yamabond, Threebond 1184 but there are many other good products around .

Obviously they forgot to glue one of the port covers on my ms 391 cause it blew it off at 12000 grand , it also took a couple of fins out on the flywheel, i guess its my fault though , i must have used the wrong bar oil 😂 , those saws are turds in my opinion , stihl didnt stand behind any of the failures they just made ridiculous excuses its always your fault and maybe so for buying the turd in the first place , exploding flywheels , popped port covers , fried coils , failing rev limiters , mufflers that don't stay tight, and more vibration than a $99 wildthing , the only thing i am impressed with is stihls lack of commitment to making it right with their customers.

Sorry to tell you Richard , I have used them with terrible results, I hope your experience is different than mine, I gave them two chances at my repeat business but I quickly learned my lesson. Stick with OEM especially for pro and commercial use…! Both times with Bearing Failures , Cylinders turned green after a short time ..!

If it’s hobby work the after market can be fine. When there’s business and money on the line it’s best to use known good parts and make sure your not gonna have down time.

I was at the Stihl dealer later today and asked him to price the top end. It was a whisper over $400.00. I'm baffled how that piston and cylinder kit is as much as a ms661 P&C. I knew they were high, but Good LAWD!

@@richardflagg3084 Yea that's pricey, I guess all the money is in the machine work and plating. Only difference between the two is just the amount of material that goes into them. But in terms of work its about the same.
