@RychardKraft Hello Mr. Richard, it won't install incorrectly without force or breaking something. I video or take digital pictures and even pencil draw things I think may be potentially difficult. There is a shoulder that mechanically limits rotation, in order to install it incorrectly, the shoulder would have to be removed or broken. In going this modification does it make it the equivalent of the high output oiler used in the 660? What was the total cost of all the parts used and their part numbers? Do you know the part number for the OEM high output oiler? Do you know the cost of that High Output oiler? I’m wondering what the totals are between the reworked oil pump with new parts vs. swapping out a High output pump altogether? Thank you.

Hi Mr. Michael, no sir, this is the internals/pump for the 046/460/461. This is a totally different series of parts hence the #1128 designations. None of these parts interchange with the 064/66/660 series of oilers. I will give you a link that shows the dimensional and part number designations. Thank you sir watching and your comments... Mr. Michael, you edited your comment while I was replying. I do know the cost and the part numbers. The part numbers are listed in the description. The cost is about half to do the internals only. The complete pump is less than $90 last time I checked. The MS 660 Austrailian HO pump was $160 + tax last time I bought one. @@rottiejakeluke 1142 640 3200 is the only oil pump for the 500/462/382 that I am aware of. They oil well after the detent is punched allowing the eccentric to rotate. Thank you sir...

Would the same part numbers apply to my MS261CM? I can't believe how stingy it is all the way up. Thin viscosity helps a bit, but still anemic oiling for a pro saw.

Cobra514, I worked on a 261 back in the summer. The control bolt will work but not the piston. The control bolt is inexpensive. I read you had your pump turned up. Brian: This was an outstanding video! I truly had no idea that there were issues with the oil pump on the 400. I have about 8 to 10 tanks through mine and have not had a problem yet running a 25" bar. Are you noticing this in any particular type of wood?

There aren't issues with the oiler as it comes from factory, this is just a mod to make it push out more oil.

@@em4703 Hi EM. The 1135 640 3200 unit pumps 13cc -15cc per min @ 12K rpm. It does that just fine. For many users it is not enough. I am one of the many. In comparison to the Husqvarna 562 and Echo 620, the oiler on the STIHL (341/361/2/400) is seriously lacking in my conditions and use. It also seems that is the opinion of hundreds of verified STIHL owners of said models. In the full video I give reference to the intended use of the 400 @ 9:57. I also make the statement @ 18:46 that in order to take advantage of the torque and horsepower of this unit the oil pump should be improved. Great vid. Stihl pro saw oilers are too stingy. If you buy a 362 or a 400, do this upgrade or buy the whole assembly. This is my only knock against Stihl, otherwise they’re great saws. Thanks
