Just wanted to thank you for the video. I replaced the carb on mine. Same model. It ran for a while the day I installed the carb. Next day I was going to use it on my next job. No start. I watched your video again and saw how you tucked the other fuel line under the other one. I did that and it took right off. I might of had it flooded too. Once I got it going, I pretty much edged the whole neighborhood. I was also having trouble getting the door open to get to the air filter. It was running into the fuel line, that was installed wrong. Thanks for not letting me pull my hair out and tweaking my back.

Thanks for this. I have stopped doing department store 2 stroke repairs as about the time they need work there are just too many things wrong with them. Stihl, Husqvarna and Echo are what I work on now. The seals last much longer (crankseals).

Have the exact same model. It was given to me and hadn't run in a few years Just put a new carb on, air filter, fuel lines, fuel filter, gaskets. Cannot get it to even kick. I have spark, I have fuel in the cylinder I have airflow., and I have compression (used my thumb). Any help would be awesome

I have the same weed eater. Worst possible scenario the whole thing needs to be rebuilt or whatever how much would it cost if I had it done at a dealeIr? Part and labor included rough estimate?

Thanks for the video. My fs 55 r suddenly wouldn't start, I figured I'd just swap out the carb because it's so cheap, did that still wont start, has good compression, any ideas? Going to try the plug next.

a 5/16" socket for a 1/4" drive works without modifying anything

Deepwell, yes. Standard socket misses a bit.

I've got the same problem, trying to find a 12 point, all of my six points even though pretty thin walled won't fit into the cavity and there's not much room to grind them down without them breaking when you go to use them.

Hi mate, i have an FS55R strimmer and it's really bogging down when i open the throttle. Theirs hardly any response, sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's awful. I looked for the spark arrestor to clean it, but i'm in the UK and i don't have one on my model. Would fitting a new carb solve the issue? TIA

Do you think a new carb will cure a non starting 55 ? Got a spark, flywheel key OK but won't start. Backfires through carb after several pulls.
@THEMOWERMEDIC15 жыл бұрын
Bad coil. Recheck fly key

Go to ebay and get some stainless steel hemostats and clamp em on that throttle cable. You'll get it in place on the first try. The medical grade clamps are much better than the cheap ones.

Loved the video... You posted a video on repairing a BR420C a while back... I have one of these that I got on ebay... Always had a problem with the throttle trigger cable assy... Doesn't seem like there is anything that secures it to the Carb. Linkage.. Is there a a piece that is supposed to secure it?? Does anyone have a picture of the card. to cable assy clip or lock in place piece?? Thanks.. Keep them coming!!

Leave it to Stihl to complicate everything. Good thing those Zama carbs are cheap because they are problematic. They should have bought Walbro instead of Zama.
