I tuned up my 041 replace carb, and fuel lines, etc. then couldn't get any fuel to the carb. Tried all sorts of suggestions, then discovered that when I pushed the fuel barb piece into the tank fuel line rubber on the outside of the tank, the 90 degree portion of the exterior hose barb connector, wasn't completely seated and it was closed off by the rubber line. I'm not sure how to avoid having this happen, unless you can shine a light into the tank after you push down the fitting, I didn't even see it right away when I removed it during my troubleshooting efforts. I read tons of different posts and videos, no one mentioned this. Maybe you can include it, might not happen on any other models mine is 1978-79 Farm Boss Stihl

Hello friend, I also have one and the housing where the cable is fixed is cracked, aluminum solder filling in to reinforce it, will it hold up? there aren't many here in my region of southern Brazil they are scarce, I have a zero fifty-one, I got the upper carcass but I didn't mount it to see if it worked

If I search parts for an 041 farm boss is there a distinction between newr versions? Mine is from late 80's I think. I need a new muffler and air filter.

Has to be for a 041 farm boss to my knowledge they didnt make a new version. They have a few different variations of the 041 farm boss though so try and find a parts diagram that matches your version

I recently was given one of these still 041 and after a few months of use I noticed that ever time I would put it up it would leak out all the bar oil from the bottom... would u happen to have any suggestions on what it mite be.. also what is that orange knob net to carburetor?? Thanks

they leak oil the orange knob is the oilflow adjuster

The av one is anti vibration from what I understand. But I could be wrong. Basically had a different handle set up so when cutting it doesn't vibrate as much

Question: do you need a gasket between the black cover(under the carb)and between the crankcase? Nice vidio

I think so...I think the gasket he put under the filter box was supposed to go between the crankcase and the black pan. I don't see any need for a gasket on top of the carb. You need a gasket on BOTH sides of the black pan...that is the only place that needs to be air tight.

I repair my chainsaw , replace carburator, sparkplug and air filter. It runs but it look like has no power to cut.

Sounds like a compression issue. I would test it see if it holds any or not

That saw needed a bottom boot below the carb. They deteriorate and cause poor performance, blowing many up.
