Finally picked this one up and you are dead right this thing is awesome! I love my cold steel Ti lites but they never found that middle ground between the 4” and 6”. Benchmade came along and did it and more! “ the axis lock is a fidget addicts dream “ one hand opening and closing just pulling down on the lock alone “you don’t even need to use the thumb stud/disk” I’m Canadian and I can say if any of my Canadian brothers and sisters are reading this. If you are looking for something similar to a switchblade stiletto style knife for everyday carry I think this is better, you can open and close it with one hand, it’s light weight, better materials, shaving sharp D2 steel blade. You have to handle one to understand just how perfect it is

I’ve been carrying mine for a year now, great knife and a real crowd pleaser! On different steel options, unfortunately BM doesn’t have machine power/time to produce different steel options. Be nice but I don’t think it’s feasible. Now I really do like the new Fact offering in auto, looks to be a real nice knife too. Great review!

Tough question. I like them for different reasons. The Clever Girl is a beautiful Persian Style Blade that I absolutely luv. And, you cannot forget the security of the Deadbolt Lock. And, it's heavy-duty feel... :-) in the other hand, I absolutely luv my Benchmade 391BK, too... I like how slim and easy to conceal it is. You know I absolutely luv the Tactical Stiletto Style of the 391BK, also... The size and weight of this one is perfect, too, in my opinion. :-) So, there isn't a favorite... :-( I absolutely luv both of them for different reasons and purposes when it comes to SDUEDC, They're both great Folders that everyone should be proud to own and carry. :-) I hope this helps... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Right on, Bro. :-) SDUEDC means self-defense, utility, everyday carry. It's one I made up. Just saying EDC, for me, wasn't a good enough acronym. It wasn't completely stating what I choose to carry everyday and why I carry what I carry. So, I made my own acronym. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Yes! Totally agree, Bro! I have always wished CS would have made at least one of the Frenzy models more Tactical (Black & DLC coated w/a deeper carry pocket clip). And, a new and improved CS Ultra-Lock would top it off real nice; though, the Tri-Ad Lock works just fine for the Frenzy, I would like a more tactical version... Also, the Ti-Lite, with a new improved Cold Steel Ultra-Lock would be cool, too; I am not a Liner-Lock Fan... :-) Right on! Peace, Stiletto :-)

Out of the one's you mentioned, if I wanted a lightweight easy to carry folding knife for sdedc, I would choose the Frenzy.., But, if you need a heavy-duty fighting folder, I would pick the Large Espada... Peace, Stiletto :-)

I too think she's a beauty alright. My usual knife stockists tell me they probably won't receive it until after the summer, due to the virus. My question is I've been searching for other pics and vids on this blade since you showed us. You said you don't like the short pocket clip. However If it was installed does the short pocket clip get in the way of the axis lock when tip down? From some pics I saw it looks that way. I don't usually like combo edges but on this blade it looks sweet.

Yes, this folder is super sweet, in my opinion. It's lightweight and super easy to EDC. But, for me, the ring pocket clip isn't my personal favorite. Perhaps, I am just used to standard clips. As far as getting in the way of the Axis-Lock, it only does on one side of the Axis-Lock; that was not an issue. I just don't care for the ring clip. I hope that helps. Peace, Stiletto :-)

Love the socp folder as well! That's been my EDC for the last few weeks as well as the cold steel ti lite kris style blade. I don't really get the ring clip. I tried it and it was kinda weird. You've got great taste in knives man.

Right on! I absolutely agree. The SOCP 391BK has been in my pocket everyday. It's become my favorite SDUEDC. And, I totally agree with you on the Ring Clip; it just doesn't work for me. But, it does look cool on the handle if you want to carry tip down on the inside of your pants. But, since I'm not the slimmest guy on the planet, it doesn't work well for me... LOL :-) My only gripe about the SOCP 391 Series is, the clip is too weak. The same goes for my 810 Contego Series Folders. I always worry about losing my folder, because the clip doesn't tightly secure the folder to your jeans... Are there stronger pocket clips out there? Perhaps, I'm just used to Cold Steel Pocket Clips, they secure you folder to your pocket; I've never lost a CS Folder on my Scoot... Peace, Stiletto :-)

It is a little on the expensive side, true... Though, most, "Great Blades," are... But, there's nothing else, in manual folders, that can compare to its appearance, weight, in hand feel, and function; I love it. I love it so much, I bought three of them. Why? You never know when they are going to stop making them... That's how much I, personally, love this New, 2020, 391 S.O.C.P., Axis-Lock Folder from Benchmade; it "ROCKS!" It's my number one favorite knife to carry everyday. Oh, did I mention how useful it is? The 391 S.O.C.P. is definately one of my all time favorites. Right on, to each their own... I respect your opinion. But, I disagree. In my opinion, the Benchmade 391BK is what I would call "Tactical Folding Stiletto." Note: Stilettos can be Folding or Fixed Blade Knives... For example, the Italian Switchblade and Manual Folding Stilettos. I, also, consider the Cold Steel Ti-Lite Series and the Artisan Hornet Series and the Benchmade Fact, to be mofern folding stilettos, too, like the Benchmade 391BK... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
