Until I got into guitar I had no idea Gary Moore was an absolute beast. He is an expression master with the vibrato and bends. Thanks for this very efficient lesson which I’ll be doing. This will give me some workouts playing in those higher frets. I love this song!

Totally agree about the vibrato and bends. Great idea! Yes this is a perfect solo for you to practice for higher up the neck playing.

I hear you. It's an epic solo and LONG. I think it starts basically the same way though with this theme. I'll have to learn it. If you need the TABS for what I teach in this lesson for the rhythm part and intro here is a link: bit.ly/2Yq2xeZ Good luck!

Is that the tune where Moore stole the chord progression and screaming lead guitar idea from Santana's "Europa'?
@jamesgambon17673 жыл бұрын
Yes, and made it better.
@MichaelCrutcher3 жыл бұрын
@@jamesgambon1767 not even close. Tone is derivative at best, and sounds like Elmer Fudd singing. Carlos keeps the focus of the listener without uttering a word, and utilizes more melodic tools appropriate for the chord progression than the clichèd "one minor pentatonic scale over everrything" approach.

@@MichaelCrutcher I saw Carlos many times LIVE. Starting with the original SANTANA back in the late 60's. I also was lucky enough to see Gary. They are BOTH amazing guitar masters! RIP Gary and thank goodness Carlos is STILL playing great...... IMHO......

Derivative ? Please explain what that even means as for comparing Gary Moore to Elma fudd , show us all your latest work ,if you actually knew how to play the guitar then you'd have a real appreciation of just how good Gary Moore was .
