"Still Hurting" from THE LAST FIVE YEARS: Siobhan Stagg & Paul Hankinson

Hi folks! It's no secret that my singing career is focussed in the worlds of opera and symphonic concert repertoire. There's nothing like the harmonic richness and raw emotion in Mozart's Requiem or a Puccini opera finale. What some people don't know is that I grew up in Mildura (in regional Australia) and my first gateway to classical music came through musical theatre and film music. I believe that regardless of genre and technique, the beauty of singing is in sincere storytelling. It's been cathartic to reconnect with my early musical roots with this recording of "Still Hurting" from Jason Robert Brown's musical/film, The Last Five Years. You can even hear J.S. Bach's influence in the piano solo, played masterfully here by Paul Hankinson. Whatever your musical persuasion, I hope you'll find something touching here.
