a great modern substitute is the 4ms sampler where you can also manually select in and out points to get that granular effect

they just came out with an hxc saving retrofit for this sampler, but I agree, the ephemeral quality of not saving makes it feel more like a jam

There is a trimming function on PO K.O 33 sampler, you can use it as a glanural stynh/sampler in a simmilar way like you do on the 612.

awesome!! can i ask u one thing ? just got an serviced s 612 BUT when i wanna play longer triad chords, like in the c 3 -c 4 range , the quality is just useless. when i just sample in low quality with c2, and then just play the sampled one note tone, also in c2, the akai sounds lush and like nice crunchy 12 bit, but in higher octaves its just useless. Maybe i do sth wrong 😀. maybe u can help. just put it to service and they said everything is fine with that japanese fella. greetings felix 🙂

Are the filters active with live input, live efx , or do you have to sample to use the filters , LFO Etc....

There is a disk drive you can add. I have one. It works but is antiquated. Check out the Akai MD280.

The Daydream Sound Yeah, it takes up 2U of space and is clunky. The 2.8” QD disks are expensive and not practice in the 21st century. I looked into expanding the RAM from 128 KB, but the processor (Z80) cannot address more than 128 KB. I love it the way it is though. Your vids about the old school samplers are the best. We need another one on the S950.
