This is by far the best mod guide I have found so far. While others I have found are good and have helped me to build 20/25+ speed mods, I can say that this one has been the most helpful for me personally to explain such a complex topic in an easily understandable way mainly due to the on-screen graphics. More than anything this guide emphasizes which mods (at each level) should be kept based on speed per hit and which should be removed. I also think explaining the process of working an overall inventory of mods rather than going toon-by-toon is helpful for newer players. When I first started SWGOH I thought (even after watching other mod guides) that going on a toon-by-toon basis was the go-to option, this video has really showed me how ineffective that strategy is. Thank you for the hard work!

I've been playing for a little while now, and never took the time to dive into modding. I just feel so overwhelmed. This is some great info! For sure, I'm going to have to re-watch it to remember the standards, but just watching this, I made almost a million credits already selling mods without the speed secondary. The A, B, C, D and E mod letters I still don't quite understand, but I'm getting the jist of it I think. Up until this point, I've been going with the auto-recommended mods for each character to get the bonus stats, and than I'd just upgrade those mods. So, from going to the game auto-filling to me actually tryin to upgrade certain mods, it's a bit scary, not gonna lie :P But again, this is a great video for me to learn from. The upload is really appreciated my dude. Subbed.

As a competitor to everyone who reads this and watches this video, i really hope that you follow everything he says BECAUSE everyone deserves to enjoy the game and it starts with getting a turn before getting blown out. That said, you are only getting 80% of the story here. According to his logic, you are going to end up with a roster of fast toons who attack with noodles. The 6* arrow is one of the most powerful mods because you arent focused on speed and can pump your stats up to crazy values. I mean.. 10-12% tenacity or offense is crazy and makes it better than a 25 speed square with its 8.5% offense. While im good with the 25 speed stuff, sometimes 22 speed with a huge 5 hits on offense or protection is important and you are not going to see those mods if you stop at 6* and make a bunch of weak 25 speed mods. This is no different than getting to G13 and never increasing the relic and wondering why your Malgus gets blown out. He doesnt have health, protection or offense, but he has 325 speed!

Looking at rhe 6D requirements it says for 4 slices minimum is 18, but if we can only get 6 speed max wouldn't that put you at 24 speed? Is this acceptable or am i missing something? Should I be reading the minimum requirement as in slice anything higher than this value?
@CaptainAmazing_swgohКүн бұрын
You are right, but a 23-34 speed mod is still a very good mod. It’s just my standard of what is worth working. Of course I prioritize those mods that have the highest potential. But, there’s a minimum standard there too.

What is your farming method? Do you rotate between farming mods and slicing materials? Do you only farm mods? If you only farm mods, do you rely on events and rewards for slicing mats? Or, when farming mods and you find a mod with potential, do you stop farming mods and work on that specific mod to see if it rolls and slices well? Then, when what mod is done (success or failure), you go back to farming mods until you find another with potential?
@CaptainAmazing_swgoh10 ай бұрын
Heya, I’m going to expand on this series on farming mods. I wanted to build this guide, because It was the most frequent question asked of me when discussing mods. What about the quality of your mod secondaries with respect to the mod set. For example at 15:43, you took at crit chance mod with no crit chance secondary to 6 dot. For me, generally I wouldn't slice this mod because it doesn't have a crit chance secondary. Do you look at the quality of the secondaries or as soon as you see hits on speed (regardless of secondary) you slice it until it no longer makes sense?
@CaptainAmazing_swgoh9 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for commenting! In my mods basics guide, I cover secondary stats in-depth. The point of this guide is the theory of building +25 speed mods into your account. In regards to that specific mod, it was just a speed mod on an imperial trooper. I didn't care about it's secondary stats because they just require speed. Overall, I'd love to build mods with great secondary stats and speed stats. But, speed is king.
@MusicAddict97110 ай бұрын
I will say... I think this is a slightly dated way to approach mods... When I first started playing 100% this was the way to get good speed secondaries, but now with the avenue of having an extra 4 rolls at it with going up into 6 dot, plus the avenue of the re roll materials, i have managed to to take 7 speed secondaries to the high twenties with not a lot of failures in that process, i honestly think any mod when u take it to gold if it has 10 speed or more irs worth taking to 6 dot cud chances are you will ebd up wiru at least at 22+ speed mod
@MusicAddict97110 ай бұрын
On top of this because this means you scrap nowhere near as many mods. You build a bigger inventory of very good mods rather than a few amazing ones
@CaptainAmazing_swgoh10 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for your opinion! As you continue to play you will develop more mods into your account. This strategy is to maximize resources with results. You can roll the dice on +10 speed mods at 6 dots. But, you’ll inevitably end up with sub-par mods that waste slicing and calibration materials.
@mgabrielm7410 ай бұрын
@@CaptainAmazing_swgoh what is a sub par mod? there is no such thing. There are characters you dont even want speed on, tanks for example. I think you, like said above, have a dated view of mods. Speed was king once, yes. Since datacrons, not so much.
@mgabrielm7410 ай бұрын
There are exceptions to every rule. For example you want slow tanks, so they taunt longer. But then there is Bossk, you want him lightning quick for the LV counter. I could have a lightning quick JKL, but I run him on +45 on purpose, so I can use him to cut the opponents speed to his, once his special is done. Also, your guide does not eliminate the rng factor at all. I think CG once said that like .0025% of the mods get 5 speed rolls. So, what are people who follow your guide to use while they are waiting for the +25s to drop? I would also go crazy with the 3 roll +18 you showed. That one has potential.
@conradCOYS4 ай бұрын
I’m confused, what does a “hit” mean?
@CaptainAmazing_swgoh4 ай бұрын
On the left in parenthesis there’s a number. A “hit” is when you slice a mod and that number increases by one. So one hit of a speed secondary can be anywhere from +3~6 depending on the quality of the hit. So if your mod has two “hits” on a speed secondary it can have anywhere from +6-13 speed on a mod technically. You may wonder why it’s 13 max instead of 12. It’s because a mod can technically start with +6, get another hit with +6, then you get another +1 when you take it to 6 dots. I hope that helps!

@CaptainAmazing_swgoh7 күн бұрын
I farm primaries for arrows the same as I farm all other mods with the same fundamentals I’ve shown here: My mod filter guides goes over that. Speed primary arrows, I use as needed. I also sell extras every so often to free up space.
@TomMaldonato7 күн бұрын
@ not sure what you mean by using the same fundamentals you’ve shown here, unless you mean for an Arrow that’s not a speed primary, then it makes sense. The overall impression I got was anything with no speed you sell, and depending on the number of roles and the total speed you either continued to slice/upgrade them, or you held them, or you sold them. How does that fundamental apply to a speed primary arrow?
@CaptainAmazing_swgoh7 күн бұрын
@@TomMaldonato the premise of this video is how to build fast speed secondaries. I invest in non-speed primary arrows the same way as any another mod. Based upon the speed potential of the secondaries on that mod. Speed primary arrows are pretty easy to manage. You just look for good secondary stats that are complimentary to the set.
@brandynkoogler450010 ай бұрын
TLDR: If your mod, regardless of color, has any speed. Level and use it. 5 E Mods are not the best. The yellow ones are. They have the greatest potential to reach that 30 speed mod. That being said EVERY mod that has a base 5 speed regardless of color has the potential to reach 30 speed. So definitely work all colors. Mods are all random. There is no way to manipulate a mod in order to gaurentee a boost to the speed stat. A mod with 2 speed is going to be better than a mod with 0 speed. So dont throw away bad mods. Only do that when said mods have been replaced with better ones and only sell mods if there are no mod slots available on any characters. Unmatching mods are better than no mods
@CaptainAmazing_swgoh10 ай бұрын
Thanks for your input. I don’t exactly agree with your summarization. Not every mod with speed has the potential to be a good mod. I sell all mods with only 3 speed at Grey, under 8 for green, etc. also not every mod should be sliced or has the potential to hit above +25 speed so that’s why I have standards on what I slice.
@brandynkoogler450010 ай бұрын
@@CaptainAmazing_swgoh Oh, I think you misunderstood. I didnt say every mod can become a good mod. I said, or at least tried to say any mod with any speed is genereally better than a mod without speed. Obviously you would want to focus on the better mods and I also agree that not every mod should be sliced. Resources for that is a pain so you gotta be picky. Edit: I misunderstood. Someone ran an omega bot on my mods in my discord. I have 22, 25+ speed mods, 45, 20-24 that didn’t end up working out. Also I have 60, 14-15 mods that are 5A that require working. My sacrificing mod slicing material hurt my potential to work my mods. But, fleet arena is and should be everyone’s priority as it’s the best crystal until Kyber for grand arena. I currently farm more slicing materials then mods to work through my imbalance and back-log of high potential mods. I’m going to make a guide soon on how to utilize mod energy! Thanks for your comments and congrats on your new 25+ speed mods!

I did max calibrations on some mods , that’s 405 attenuators Need to stop doing that 😅
@CaptainAmazing_swgoh10 ай бұрын
I’ve found that I’d rather save the calibration materials for new mods. I understand the feeling of abandoning a high potential mod, but opportunity cost should be factored into decision making as well.

I may have missed something but can you give a quick explanation of a hit?
@CaptainAmazing_swgoh10 ай бұрын
Yes! A hit is when you a slice a mod. So I would slice the mod and hopefully it will “hit” speed to give me more speed in the mod.

Where do you get all the credits for this 😭

You can get credits with Mk1 raid currency. Also, the longer you play. The less you need to level up characters. I honestly have enough passive credits that I don’t need to buy them for raid currency. But, if I ever do, I use Mk1 currency.

@CaptainAmazing_swgoh10 ай бұрын
Heya! There are other mods that have a much greater potential have higher speeds. It already has 4 speed rolls and is +16 speed. The point of this guide is how to make high speed secondary rolls. That mod doesn’t have the potential to roll as a high speed mod. It’s also a protection primary, which only grants .5% for 6 dot.

Could have saved us all 5 minutes by starting at 5-B mods. The amount of trash to sift through and slicing mods less than 5-B wasted is astronomical. Yes you can get an unicorn 28 speed mod from a 5-E, but upgrading a 5-B is easier and costs less credits to go to level 3 than 6.9.12. Also - Mods can be sold for credits so if you have potency or tenacity before leveling up- sell it. Again, that can be a 28 speed mod, but you need health and protection or offense or defense in those other secondary slots. If I see a 5-E with offense, speed, health protection or defense, I’ll try it, but it’s not my go to mod.

This is not how to build +25 mods, this is how to get rid of the "bad" mods. ;) All mods are built on the same way... upgrade/slice. To know when not to upgrade/slice is a different thing.
