You are an incredibly talented guitarist, best i've seen on the net IMHO. No doubt you have the skills to be a professional touring with an 80s band or current, you certainly could hang with the best of the best and make lots of money...then again maybe you do already, what do I know. Of course maybe that's a lifestyle choice too. Cool that you gave props to John Sykes.

I wish I was good enough at guitar to know how to play fun stuff like this so I could enjoy it as much as it looks like you are at ~ 4:09 . Need to figure out how to practice more since I’ve only been at it for about a month, sometimes I just get lost trying to figure out what to do to progress at all. Anyways Matt, you always have the best covers I’ve ever seen. I hope you find time in the future to keep posting them, they’re one of the most enjoyable things to come from this website. Hope you keep doing well with everything going on in the world!
@mattrg4703 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jason! It's taken many 1000's of hours to get to where I am now. I don't mean that to put anyone off, its just the reality of putting the time in. At 1 month just doing anything that makes a decent noise is probably good enough. I wasn't away for anything negative, things just came up and recording wasn't a priority. I still played every day though!
@rickkelley46183 жыл бұрын
Sage advice. Play a little every day. Even if it’s just running some warm-up scales or strumming 2 alternating chords for 20-30 minutes. Try to pick a song you’d love to play and work on it 2-3 days per week in small chunks (there’s bound to be a decent tutorial on yt for it somewhere). That will keep you interested. Depending on your life responsibilities, you should expect to spend 1-2 hours/day at least 5 days/wk.
@mikecunningham6154 Жыл бұрын
You know how you sit down to eat, grab a fork, spoon or just grab a burger and dig in. You will feel like you are getting stuck while learning how to play your instrument, without a Doubt, but, one day when you pick up the guitar it's going to be just like sitting down to eat and you'll just dig in. It's going to take practice just like it did when you learned how to eat, you just don't remember learning to eat. Just keep practicing and don't give up. Mistakes you make might end up being something new and you'll be practicing the mistakes you made.

I've read that Still Of The Night is a blatant rip-off of Led Zeppelin but honestly, I just don't see it. I've always loved this Whitesnake track & reckon it stands on its own merits. And TBH much as I like Zep, it's a bit rich for them to point the plagiarism finger when they've got so much form in that department! Great cover by the way....
