I am currently making this quilt and I was having problems with my centers not quite coming out perfect so I tried the pin thing. OMG, , that made such a big difference and they all started coming out perfect. Since they lined up so nice I was able to pull my seam apart a little in the center and 'spin' it which resulted in a beautifully flat center. I am having so much fun making this quilt. Thank you Donna! I love your tutorials, and have made several of your quilts with plans to make a lot more! You are a great teacher and have pretty much taught me to quilt!

Yes, this industrial machine (Consew single needle) has a reservoir of oil beneath the machine and is self-oiling. I just love it and could not go back to a home machine now!

Well I thought I had all the machines I needed, I got another one today it is a Domestic model #915 But after seeing yours you have got me wanting one now, so I am now on the hunt for a industrial machine, so can yours accommodate a double needle like domestic home machines can? I’m a little late to this party. I searched for a PDF of this specific pattern to get measurements for the borders but didn’t find anything. Can you give me the sizes? Also, is the wedge piece 5” on all three sides if I should go the template route? Thanks for all you offer to us quilters! You use a lot of batiks and they are gorgeous! I’ve been told there are special care instructions with batiks and to beware of them. Do you have any trouble with bleed with batiks when laundering them?

We actually have almost no trouble at all with batiks. We stick to the best suppliers (Hoffman, Kaufman, Moda, RJR) for our batiks. You can always wash with a color catching cloth (Shout makes a good one) if you are worried about bleed.

Hi, Phyllis! I use "Shout Color Catcher". It comes in an orange box about 4.5"×6". Instructions say to use 2-3 sheets per wash load. I use more, especially if I'm washing a larger quilt with medium to dark batiks (I will use 4-5). They DO work. Happy Quilting❣

This is a three-year old video -- it gets better as you get closer to present day videos. In fact, their video technique currently (2020) is one of the best I've seen, so stick with it! These tutorials are worth it!
