It’s okay to think a lot of yourself if you can’t back it up with talent and brains. Sting can. However, I love the fact that he’s playing a false messiah, one with all the answers. And then he falls off the concealed ramp into the water. And he’s pissed about the fall and throws a temper tantrum. Guess he doesn’t like being exposed. Like most charlatans. Vote blue.

@@thedude-jb7wx Now i know why is this song so amazing and addictive. Thanks.
@thedude-jb7wx3 жыл бұрын
@@janbalaban5268 Much of being a musician is stealing a bit. The more time goes on the harder it is to come up with something totally original. Music is actually king of stupid and one could learn to write pop hits in a matter of months with a teacher who wasnt trying to milk a student, Which they do and its unfortunate. Music theory for popular music requires almost no intelligence. Play 2 chords like the song Tequila with great time and you can add 4 more easily. With pro tools and autotune anybody can be a pop star nowadays. People think music is this hard thing and its not as long as one has creativity which is the most important part that and soul. So many songs today are borrowed or stolen if you will. The music alphabet is A thru G. Learn to play in the key of C on the piano and you too can write hits.
@janbalaban52683 жыл бұрын
@@thedude-jb7wx Sure. Stupid pop hits for masses is easy to write. But something better, it is not so easy. I think that Madonna, Seal, Sting have really good songwriters. Like Richard Page from Mr.Mister band. Leonard Cohen was another "ghost songwriter" for many pop stars.
@thedude-jb7wx3 жыл бұрын
@@janbalaban5268 I dont know. I like Stings first album DOTBT. Seal is good from what ive heard but im not an expert. For me personally I dont find most music interesting to be honest and many of the most respected I dont get at all. Once in a while something like the Jacobs Ladder theme from Jarre moves me incredibly. Most movie score producer i think are wayyyy overrated and have stolen from classical masters. In my youth i heard the score from the Elephant man and Platoon to bring me to tears only to find out that it was Samuel Barber. To tell you the truth i wonder how many bands had nothing to do with their songs and they all had some old genius like George Martin doing the bulk. YA know its all bs smoke and Mirrors. All i can go by is if something moves me and thge monly bands that did that from the get go were U2 the Police and some Genesis, and Pink Floyd because Gilmour is the king of soul. Any suggestions im open to. Final thought met the guy who wrote the Gambler when i had a job as a carpet cleaner. Never wouldve thought that would be the guy to write a legendary song about gamblers in a wild west parlor lol.

I went to see Sting in concert at Chateau Chambord in France, June 28. What a class act this guy is. I've loved his music since the 70's and he just gets better with age. His band are something else too.
@danguee110 ай бұрын
I'm a huge fan - but "better with age" just doesn't apply. I saw him in Cardiff last year - and he was dead ordinary, I'm afraid. I think you're looking at him with rose-tinted specs (and hearing with rose-tinted ears....)
@peterjspering8 ай бұрын
No rose-tinted nothing, danguee. He’s done some beautiful live performances over the last few years. Live performances always vary. Artists have days where they’re on top form, and days where they’re dialled down. It’s to expected when you’re doing a long slew of demanding shows.

Why does it seem like life was happier 1980-2000? Or is it just American movies play it that way? People have their houses, ok jobs, big families, a school where you get the best couple from a wealthier family of local dentist, doctors, and a lawyer. A quarterback driving Mustang and his girlfriend on a VW beetle. Super awesome rock concerts all over the globe to help countries in need. Music was awesome, movies were awesome, super funny TV ads, and much more.

Ray-gun stole from the middle class and poor to pay for the MICC and their war machine. He began creating the greatest dept on the backs of those people. He spent money he/we didn't have to support the machine. The ray-gun years began the me decade. If you or I wrote a bad check, we went to jail but ray-gun was promoted as one of the greatest presidents ever. 😂 what a joke on the middle class and the badly needed mental illness institutions. It's too bad his assassin wasn't successful. 20 years earlier Eisenhower warned amerika in his last presidential address. But Vietnam created by the MICC was just the distraction needed to kill the people who would, could have prevented the national nightmare. I could never be a patriot to a country that developed the policy to kill the amerikan natives and pay white men, like Custer to their dirty work and then they created the Klan to go after the blacks. It took a rich white boy , the son of an entitled man, who became a war hero to step up and say no more and so that had him murdered on the streets of dallas. And to be sure that got rid of the idea of real freedom, they murdered his like minded brother and Dr. King in the same year. Johnson didn't run for another term because he was scared and he knew they'd do the same thing to him.amerika is a disgrace and I for one see that there is no possibility for redemption. The empire that is amerika will fall in the next few years and the saviors have left the country for freedom elsewhere. Good riddance 😮

It's not even a blip on the grand scale. When my Grandparents hit their 60s, they were bangin' on about how the world was "going to hell in a hand basket", which is what their Grandparents said a generation before, and the one before them the same. Self-absorbed, selective nostalgia viewed through a soda straw is a common flaw of our species. Similar example from my career in the Navy, specifically the years spent on ships at sea. All those weeks and months spent at sea/deployments in unyielding groundhog day syndrome, are just blurs in my memory..... but the 5 days having a blast on the beach in PI or Thailand, or wherever, is front and center. LOL. When the current crop of kids reach their Silver years decades from now, they'll be posting to the Cloud about the "good old days, when life was simpler back in 2024", using the Nueralink microchip implanted in their skull. 🤔

I remember in 99, the today show used this tune to open their show. It's absolutely mind bending how diffrent the vibe is now compared to then.
