my grandad used to know him. they used to play guitar etc together when they were young with my grandads other brothers, one past away and things changed and my grandad decided to not go down the more successful route with music. but will always remember him as a good old friend.

Being a fan of The Police and Sting for nearly 40 years has been so educational for me. Because of Sting, I learned about the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest. I discovered Amnesty International and the political strife in Northern Ireland. He still amazes me that he can continue to rediscover himself .

The real existential issue in the UK is the economy and covid, of course. Quite right a large segment of the British population is not being listened to, hence Brexit. In particular, the elderly some of whom saw struggles no one there will now... World War II, food rationing until 1955, miners coughing their lungs out, shipbuilders with lung disease from welding, a poor health system , forced emigration to Canada and Australia in the 1950s, massive unemployment even in the 80s. Why take marching orders from Merkel and Brussels?

Well he entertained me and my classmates ...Neil wrightson or Michael Sancaster taking the register to the office...listening to him play guitar and being taken to Newcastle Uni on a trip...and him making Mark and Stephen Wade massive conical crowns for the Nativity play . So yerh he entertained and never forgot us through out the years. Buying Kev new trainers and taking him for tea and actually giving him a decent meal that his family couldnt afford.
