I had a shop remove my secondary cats and replace it straight pipe. I also have custom diy intakes and I let the BOVs vent out to atmosphere. Over all that setup sounded really nice for a mild upgrade from stock. At first I was a bit disappointed when I removed just the secondary cats. There was so little increase in sound. But after a week or two it got slightly louder and more noticeable. This would be a perfect upgrade for someone who just wants a bit more sound out of the factory exhaust. Now I have the Borla catback exhaust as well. It was very raspy at first when I installed it and was disappointed but since then it has gotten deeper and slightly smoother in tone so not as bad. I really need to install tips and sound proof trunk cuz there is a decent amount of drone especially in highway when carrying 4 other people and the engine rpm is slightly higher.

Thank you for this video I have a 18 Stinger GT2 with Mods with only the Downpipe to finish all I’m doing but with all I had done was worried it would be louder and trying to keep it a sleeper as much as possible but it’s not it’s freakin PERFECT I love the sound of the car the most now wondering how much louder the downpipe will make it sound but after this video I can’t wait to hear it. Awesome, glad to hear! You will love the sound. Still a sleeper. And at speeds around 20mph you get a little popcorn gargles that you can hear a little inside the cabin with music off lol

Thank you!!!! You are the only person I've seen make a video on just the secondarys. I just got a 22 stinger, I want to keep the exhaust valves but no muffler works with it so the secondary was my first choice and based on the video I love the tone. How much louder would you say it is compared to stock secondaries, it's hard to tell in video.

After driving around for 2 weeks + the sound is definitely louder. With stock catback exhaust, you do get some burbles at low rpms

Good too know, Im looking to make the car like 30% louder with the valve open and hoping to keep it quiet with it closed. Hopefully this is the only exhaust mod I'll need to do. Looking forward to more stinger videos.

Just ordered these and still have the stock cat back as well. My biggest fear was raspy noises. Doesn’t sound like it in the video but any of that coming into the cabin? A little more tone is fine. Thanks Man!

@michaelbarrett9107 you'll love it because it's not raspy at all, good sound at start up and overall just a little louder than stock , deeper growl

@@joshgathings007 thanks for the reply! Did you get the check engine light figured out? That was also a concern. I got K&N intakes, Velossa snorkels, HKs plug (.22) and JB4.

@michaelbarrett9107 your car is going to make all kinds of cool noises with the intakes and things. Yes, I realized I was missing a gasket on each side of the downpipes amd had some air leaking causing the light to come on, all fixed now though 👍

Hey Josh I'm in the middle of installing these now. Nuts came off without issue and loosened bracket. How did you actually get the stock pipes out? The studs that are threaded into the stock pipes seem to have it locked in. Did you have e to cut the studs off? Seems like too my prying to get them to clear.

Yeah it's all loose. Just a matter of prying to get the studs clear. I think I'll try loosening the other side. That might give it enough play

hello :) I have a 2023 gt2 with acat back borla exhaust and k&n cold air intakes. I was wondering if adding downpipes means that I now have to get car tuned and add the jb4 tune? and would the downpipes add more power that i would also need new spark plugs??

@uhhh_sam you can add the downpipes without adding the spark plugs. It's going to give you more power and torque, turbos will spool faster and the exhaust will get louder and more exciting - sounding. No tune required. Now if you want to run JB4 you would definitely want to upgrade your spark plugs first. JB4 gives you a great increase in power and torque, super fun, but you would need upgraded spark plugs first to handle the new power.

@uhhh_sam i would highly recommend! I've been on the fence with getting the borla exhaust, I know it will sound great with my ARK downpipes. I have heard the combo of the two together and it does sound very good.

Does buying a catless down pipe make your turbos sound louder? I know stock, you can hear only a little bit from inside the cabin, but I'm talking about outside.

Yes it increases the turbo sound and also allows turbos to spool quicker, giving you more power faster. The updated intakes I installed also increase the sound of the turbos spooling.

@@joshgathings007 Nice! I currently have a 2023 G70 3.3t Sports prestige with the AFE Takeda intakes. It's a box intake so you can't really hear the turbos sucking air. I'm thinking about getting a downpipe just to make them turbos spool sounds louder and hopefully go JB4 like everyone else is. I'm probably going to run stage 1 or 2 on JB4. Not going too crazy. Thank you.

Yes, I wouldn't run any maps without the upgraded spark plugs

Sounds good. It’s just I was looking through your page and it seems like you didn’t have a jb4 before this video, right? I’m trying to run secondary downpipes with CAI, but it seems like people with similar set ups tend to run into check engine lights or overboost issues. I’m just trying to avoid getting them installed if I’m just going to have to do the run around and having to forcibly get a tune to run it.

@brn0ut4ever86 correct, I didn't have the jb4 yet in this video. Maybe I forgot to put a gasket at one end to prevent any leaking. Not everyone that has the downpipes get the check engine light.

You can install them now without the jb4. That's what I did. 👍

@Notsendyt I comes on maybe 2 or 3 times a month, it's because I forgot to install the gaskets on one side of the downpipes lol, I found them recently stuck on my old stock downpipes, will install them later this month. Should hopefully fix the light issue

I believe it removes the secondary cats , there is a primary cat further up closer to the turbos

Sounds exact same. Waste of money. I have a G70 and there are literally no good exhaust systems out there. Hence why I'm watching exhaust videos for Stingers to get an idea of what sounds like what. There are not alot of videos of the G70 with aftermarket exhaust options for the new 2022 models. I'm honestly thinking about buying a Dinan axel back that BMW makes and retro fitting it to my car. Best sounding exhaust systems on the planet. Not too loud, give awesome burbles, and absolutely zero rasp or ricey sound. Had a M235i previously and that car sounded like heaven

Ya the stingers and G70s are quiet. Obviously in person you hear the sound differences and feel the power increase (faster turbo spooling). I'd have to search videos on the Dinan axel back. Think the loudest exhaust is still borla with downpipes installed, without going completely straight piped. Then you get all the annoying rasp and drone.
