1)BlackWater 49- 0:50 That's not the modern shape of Germany. Look more like 1939-40 or something when the Wehrmacht can conquered Belgium and the Netherlands... 2)MM = millimeter (New Voice Over artist for coming contents) 3)Shane D’Angelo-You messed up on the sight assembly and the bcu is way too big. Other than that it’s pretty close to the actual look of the missile. P.S Military Technology Data are a little tough to get our hands on and also classified and most of them are in a very grey area, but we will try our best as average Engineers and 3d Animators to bring out the best in a very Minimalistic or Simple Explanation. We take full responsibility for our mistakes.

The description is too primitive, they did not describe how the management works. There is only one pair of handlebars deflected, and there are only two positions, left and right. And the other pair of planes are destabilizers, they are not mobile and are needed for better maneuverability. The rocket rotates at a speed of 20 revolutions/seconds, and these rudders switch in a certain way, make the rocket turn in the right direction. So if you are doing an animation of a rocket flight, you need to implement rotation around the axis. I do not know if there is detailed information on the Stinger MANPADS in the public domain, but there is information on the Igla, Strela-2, Strela-2M MANPADS, of course, in Russian. True, it is possible that sources could have been blocked in recent times, but maybe you can find a lot of people who downloaded during this time. Yes, the Stinger and Igla MANPADS are noticeably different, but they have a lot in common, and there, and there, a single-channel type of control is used.

Why does it have a bookshelf mounted on the side & why do you need a fresh can of stinger juice every 45 seconds. The video failed to explain those points. I thought this was a self sufficient platform. I also thought that the gun sight was gonna be akin to a fighter jet's head's up display. Displaying range to target, lock on status, and time on target after launch.
@ElijahsThrone
@ElijahsThrone 9 ай бұрын
@@dr.pastrami5272 that book shelf is an Antenna which communicates with aircraft determining whether its friendly or foe. The can is a battery and the longer it’s in the battery well it can implode then become stuck in the battery well and cause significant damage. I don’t think I can discuss when this will happen but 45 seconds is a great point to aim for. There is no heads up display rather its different statuses are communicated in a series of tones and beeps. There is also a bone transducer that acts as a secondary status device. As far as range is concerned we are trained to make near accurate perceptions in distance to aid us in acquisition.

The BCU (Battery Coolant Unit) contains both pressurized argon and a thermal battery. The argon cools down when allowed to expand. The cold argon cools the missile's thermal sensor. The BCU also has a one time use "thermal battery." This battery gets really hot. Videos showing the Stinger being used show operators quickly removing the hot BCU. I believe the BCU has to be removed quickly to avoid damaging the launcher from heat. We don't use thermal batteries in everyday life so it seems really odd (at least to me) that they work this way. I was hoping this video would go into more detail about the thermal battery. I'm having trouble finding good information about it.

Thanks for the Feedback.We understand you. The problem with military engineering videos is usually most of them are still classified. So a lot of them especially those which are in Service information is a bit difficult to acquire. Will try to find out from our Military friend if he has some idea, although I doubt he has handled a Stinger Missile.

The US spends 3.5% of GDP on defense. A lot of it goes back into the economy but it is a lot. European NATO is supposed to get to 2% but most were down to 1.2% to 1.4%. Germany got down to 1.2% and was back up at 1.4% and on track to get to 2% by 2025 before the Ukraine war broke out. The Germans had been funding EU integration and their own East Germany. Germany was only an average and by now means to lowest. Back in the days of the cold war defense expenditure in Germany was 6% of GDP and the US about the same. I would argue that had Europe been operating at 2% of GDP the war in Ukraine would be over and Russia would not have dared to invade. There would be large piles of equipment to give away.

@Fikri Arieska if they are friendly and are active on the Mode 3 or mode 4 transponder the Stinger IFF Subsystem will recognize the Aircraft as a friendly and prevent locking on by the IR seeker. If the aircraft is not a friendly then the IFF Interrogator…. The big black box that’s on the back of the launcher and connects to the grip stock or carried by the solder will give a ** Unknown ** tone alerting the gunner that the target may in fact be hostile. If that happens… well… that pilot is going to have a very bad day once that Missile reaches them at Mach 2.5

I wonder if the short battery life and shelf life of the BCU was completely by design. After all, if the US sells the stinger to so many different countries is perfectly reasonable to assume that adversaries would also get a hold of it through the black market. But with such a short shelflife it wouldn’t make much sense for them to buy it, thus limiting how many of the US’s enemies will use it against them. I know at least one anti-aircraft missile made by the US can identify US made aircraft by the outline and thus will not track it. I’m just not sure if it’s the stinger or not.

Yes they used the Proportional Navigation System .it is pure engineering developed in the 1960s.hats off to the 1950s Engineer.

How to add a new one missile after firing ?
@Aitelly
@Aitelly 2 жыл бұрын
You Do not need a new Tube You just have to insert a new missile The launcher is reusable. Each missile is a sealed unit that weighs only 22 pounds (10 kilograms

You need a new missile and a fresh battery, the tube and targeting unit is reloadable.
@anthrazite
@anthrazite Жыл бұрын
You don't. You have to switch out the empty launch tube for a new one with a missile in it. It's basically a 1-time use system except for the targeting and grip stock.

Why does the seeker need coolant? I mean any consumer grade camera works with passive cooling. What does this seeker do so special?
@Aitelly
@Aitelly 2 жыл бұрын
Credits to Will Morris Thermal cameras see with heat (IR), by using a chemical grid that turns incoming IR into an electric signal, much like the camera on a cell phone But, the normal heat of the chemical grid blinds the grid to low level IR signals. It's like having a night-light inside your 35mm camera ruining all your film. Cooling the IR chemical grid reduces this “night-light” so that it will be able to see much more distant and dimmer IR sources. The IR grid is made very cold by using evaporating liquidied gas (something like liquid nitrogen evaporating). They commonly use liquid Argon mix for this purpose, because of its compressibility and evaporation properties. Miltary uses both cooled and uncooled IR systems. There has been a lot of work to make uncooled systems more sensitive and cooled systems cheaper. Cooling is a pain, expensive, takes time to actually cool the IR grid and has limited arming time.

Thanks for detailed explanation, so basically it's like wanting to set camera ISO very high while still maintaining low noise image?
@christopherleubner6633

More sensitivity for thermal IR. The stinger has the cooling canister in the battery, the javellin system has the argon canister inside the missile itself that is activated once you confirm target lock. The targeting is different too. The stinger is for the most part optical, while the javellin is purely thermal. 🤓
