Man-O-War Cay is a quiet, out of the way, golf cart paradise in the Abaco Islands of the Bahamas. Yes, this is a "Dry Cay", but don't let that keep you away - bringing your own is a standard practice for those who enjoy beauty, solitude and the quality time the place provides to those who want simply romantic surroundings. Man-O-War is a throwback vacation destination and loveable. A Paradise of simple pleasures, just enough on the island to sustain visitors, and Marsh Harbour is only a ferry boat ride away to make stocking-up easy. For tourist destination diversions, Hope Town is also an easy day trip by ferry. I found grabbing a mooring buoy is easy and worth the $20 fee, paid in the village, for the piece of mind that makes it easy to explore the cay by bike. The cafe is a gathering place for all and the friendly proprietor, Ann, allows me to take an informal tour of her world-class tropical paradise at her beachfront home. Local boat builders produce the Albury 23 and take on restorations of old wooden vessels, as well. The sail from Man-O-War is magical, across the beautiful blue waters of the Sea of Abaco. Very friendly locals make the place easy to adopt as a destination of choice for something a little different. Sailing a Catalina 42 - and enjoying the lovely waters and cays of the Bahamas. Two beautiful musical pieces are used with permission from Plane Jane Glory - thank you Michael and Laura!
