I find it so helpful to get the finished size of blocks in the interim stages, instead of just at the end when the entire block is finished. That helps me so much, because once a block starts to go wonky, all the mistakes just keep multiplying. I wish more patterns gave us these measurements, because it really helps keep me on track.
