Oh I remember those socks for the guy for the wedding! lol That's been a while! Sometimes I swear the projects are cursed. No matter what you do, it won't work. The outlander cowl that you don't want to rip out. Stop the pattern where you are and continue in a stockinette stitch, so one side has the pattern and the rest in just plain. I will look really good and you won't waste the project and still get to wear the thistles and all. Thank you for going back through all those projects. I remember them all. Now that you have them fresh in your mind, maybe start with ones that are almost done and get them out of the way. You need to do a podcast now, on what you want to make this year.

What an episode 🤣. I love this idea of going through everything and deciding what to frog or keep. I'm trying to do the same as I've got so many sleeping WIPs. I love that razorback tee. I bet it'll feel good to get that one done.

Good choice to give away the yarn and close out the WIP for the “Project That Shall Not Be Named.” Hahaha. I remember your episodes watching you work on it and the frustration you went through.

Oh, that was fun! I still remember some of the v.old WIPs like the WIP that shall not be named 🤣For the lilac lace piece: maybe you could make a project bag out of it, maybe get some Harris Tweed for the backside and line the knitted fabric for stability. I bet that could be beautiful.

While I’m a bit late to the party, I just found your podcast and I’ve really enjoyed it! I thought I was doing fairly well in reducing the WIP pile, but if I added in the stitchery, I’d be wallowing in WIPS! Have to say I only do afterthought heels but I do put in a waste yarn line where they will go. It makes the entire process much simpler. I also do 6 rounds on the heel before any decreases as it seems to fit my high instep better. I started doing them because I had so much trouble with short row heels. However, I like the look of your shadow wrap heels and I’m tempted to give Denise’s (Earthtone Girl) tutorials a try. Thanks for the chat! I got a lot done on my sock!🧶🤗🧶

You could block and frame the outlander knitted fabric or make into a pillow, if you want it bigger maybe you could add a stockingette border.

Thanks for sharing your WIPs! looking forward to seeing what you decide to work on this year. I would be happy to knit your afterthought heels for you if you are still looking for someone to do so! I'm an avid sock knitter, but I don't do many afterthought heels since they don't fit me very well, but I love knitting them! I use The Crazy Sock Lady's tutorial which doesn't leave a hole! Let me know. :)

Wow! No other words needed. . . I have to admit that I loved seeing all of them, but my fingers would be itching to get some of them finished. I never thought of myself of being a very monogamous crafter, but since I’ve started working on my WIPs this month, I’m beginning to think I’m more monogamous than I thought.

Uterus back? 😂❤️ The heathered purple panel?…I would pick up stitches on one side and continue in a simpler stitch- and finish it as a cowl or scarf. You could do assorted panels as a sampler scarf, perhaps using other (simpler) Celtic designs in a few others- or even a cable here & there.

This was great to watch! Please don’t contemplate ripping back the purple thistle knitting! A cushion cover would be lovely to make with it and fairly easy to do! I liked all your wips but I would think about the racing back project? Is it still you? Lovely yarn though. You have some decisions to make but this was so enjoyable to go along the making journey with you! Take care of yourself x

I enjoyed this episode! Love seeing a mix of stitching and knitting. Unfortunately, there is no Ravelry for cross stitchers but there is a wonderful app I use called X-Stitch App designed by stitchers. You can keep a record of all your charts, floss, etc. as well as make journal entries for dates started and notes. I’m enjoying using it. There is a fee but I think it’s well worth it. Your Outlander knitted piece would make a lovely pillow. Maybe it can be hand-stitched onto a piece of fabric???

"Uterus looking thing" Hahaha!! Great episode! I really enjoyed it. I've been in a creativity funk so watching you go through all that, has given me a spark of interest in starting something new. Maybe cross stitch! That embroidery kit with the books is adorable and will look great on your wall. Also I agree that you should NOT rip out that beautiful knitting you did on that Outlander cowl. Its so pretty. A pillow is a very good idea. Or maybe just some small framed wall hanging. Have a wonderful week!

Fun stuff! I think you were working on the tank top when I found your channel. Hopefully you'll find your troubleshooting MOJO & have it for summer. This was so much FUN!…..I went the distance with You and really felt excited for Your New 😊Year-frame of mind in exploring your world…..I did enjoy your decision making process on what to keep….what to move on …..what to rethink and possibly remake….I loved the embroidery projects…..something I have not done in years and can see it might be a slippery slope for me to include in my merry-go round of projects…..I do love going from a “small” to a “mid-minding” to a “BIG-Brain”……shaking it up is the spice of life……Blessings

🎉🎉❤ JO READ THIS !! So for that purple project that you don’t want to rip out and you thought about using for a pillow pannel, why don’t you send the pattern and the yarn to someone else to knit for you that way you can still have the end product and you don’t have to rip anything out Just a thought. You could always put a call out for a knitter who would absolutely love the project and would enjoy knitting it for you.

A great idea! I have had several suggest if I don't do the pillow (which I'm still leaning towards) that I finish it in stockinette, which is an option. I'd really like whatever the finished product is to be something I make - is more special than a regular ole pair of socks. :D

I loved seeing all your projects. For your purple lace outlander project, you could add length in garter or stockinette or another simpler stitch and make a cowl with the lace on its side. I didn’t see how the bottom of it was finished but you can do a button connection if it was ribbed and doesn’t lend to grafting together the ends. Happy knitting!

@StitchingtheHighNotes

Perhaps, but I’m ready to move on and breathe a different life into the fabric i’ve already created. It’s not an issue of figuring out where I am in the pattern, it’s having the time and bandwidth and patience for knitting the gorgeous but complex cable construction. Is different than traditional cable patterns.

If you plan to have someone else knit the afterthought heels on the second pair you showed, why don’t you have them work on the first pair too. They could take out the heel you have already done that had the holes and reknit it, thus saving all that sock work. ??? Also you could knit or crochet around the Javapearlknits WIP if you wanted to make the whole thing bigger to fit a pillow form and have the whole one side me knit and the back side be some nice heavy material. Sometimes letting things sit in the brain for a while, the answers come. Lol

Joanna - are you using the charts or the written directions for your 18th century Scotsman cowl? I am planning on making some "improved" charts that I think would be easier to use if you are interested. They wouldn't be super pretty, just excel, but I could put both charts on the same page and simplify the repeated sts for the center motifs. I'm wisinor on Rav...

Hi Wendy! I've tried both over the years. It's more like the stitches themselves don't agree with me, but it's all good. Have moved on and have an exciting new life ahead for the fabric I did create! :D
