I have a lot of respect for this woman. She could've been a Natalie Wood type Hollywood star but she prefered to continue with her singing career.

Except not really. She made many films, had at least on tv show, gave endless interviews, and appeared constantly on radio. When she should have been working on her voice, she pushed to do all manner of things by her husband. So her voice was totally shot before she was even halfway through her 30s. Even she’d actually focused on her singing career first that wouldn’t have happened.

Anna Moffo (Mawe + phoo, not Maa fO) She was About the only that I know, that had Stage Pressence, "Beauty, Form, and Voice". It's just a shame that this Beautiful Soprano, never managed to settle down a bit and have Children. They worked her to the last bone. I wish that someone, could have a video recording of her on stage doing Lucia di Lammermoor. She sung an Outstanding Mad Scene. They make the acclaim that Joan Sutherland was the best; but lets face, beauty is what she didn't have, and you really couldn't look at her singing, because it was a turn off. Whereas, Moffo, again had Beauty, and a Fantastic Voice! I'm sure there are more recordings of her, and I like the way she sings the excerpt piece from Linda di Chamounix. She had a Natural Vibratto, not fake. and she too could flutter her voice, just as good as Sutherland, who was known for her Trills. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trashing Sutherland, when you not looking directly at her, and listen to her voice, yes very nice, but her diction, No. I couldn't sometimes understand what she was saying. Again, Moffo, had BEAUTY, FORM, AND VOICE, AS WELL AS STAGE PRESENCE. - THANK YOU.

@idraote her voice was still young. There are the As... that sound a little harsh. My voice is like that also. I can sing G fine, but after A it is just harsh. After her voice matured she loosed the harshness.

@AOG93 As to looks (I can't judge about voices) for me it's a toss-up between Moffo and Schwarzkopf: a brunette and a blonde. Fortunately Moffo did even some risquè movie where she showed other qualities apart from her voice. So my vote goes to her.

Anna Moffo was a great singer, but lip-synced opera videos are ridiculous. This is just a video of her acting and moving her mouth. I want to hear and SEE a person sing. Look for Moffo’s “live” performances on KZbin to see her true greatness. There are many.
