The remote was actually the Boot button of the system.. It's stated in the Instructions at the opening of the part 1 video that: "The android controller only corresponds not with hardware(Body) but software. It means that if the software was copied or installed to another android or creature the controller will not correspond anymore to your android." since the real boy transferred the software in his body he has been the one affected by the shutdown.

The point of the story is that if parents only value certain things about their children (e.g. good grades, good behavior and appreciating the parents), instead of the child as a person, then what they really want is a mindless machine, not a child. They want something to make the PARENTS look good, instead of focusing on the child. Taiji is warning us that unless we define human success in terms of something that machines CAN'T do better than us, then humanity itself will become obsolete.

My interpretation: The couple wanted a son, but couldn't conceive at first. They 'adopted' a robot at first out of desperation, but later gave birth to a real baby. They value the robot less than the real son, and think of the 'good' son is the human one. Years later, when the two sons look identical, the parents mix them up. When the son who now gets less love misbehaves out of jealousy, they think that he's the robot (since he's now seen as the 'bad' one) and decide to deactivate him.

@iceprincessyin That was what I thought at first too. But see in the end, the cyborg body still lives. He's the man at the first MV that also had a scar on his hand. That man was the cyborg boy before. After they exchanged bodies, the human boy in the cyborg body is the one in gray, and the cyborg boy in the human body is in black. They both got what they want so they were happy. The human boy got to have cyborg powers and the cyborg got to spend time with his parents.

I knew this when I saw 1:46, that boy had no scar on his hand so it means he's the cyborg boy in the human body. The human got jealous because he saw that the cyborg was getting all the attention that he had before. When the dad pressed the button the cyborg boy in the human body died. The one in the end is the human boy in the cyborg body. It's like he's holding the hand of his future self. If that was the cyborg then he shouldn't have grown older.

so after the exchanging, the ROBOT one got the "REAL BODY" and the BIO one got the 'Robot body.' In this MV, The robot-b0dy(with BIO's memory dies) got killed(turned off) but he revives in TIK'TAK. How do we know? remember the robot-body got a scar on his hand while making a robot to surprise his mom? When the taeji passes by those kids, the taeji has the same scar on his hand. Which means those kids are actually little taeji.

at first the person who we think is the kid is wearing a white shirt underneath his jacket and sweater, but he's actually the robot. at 1:06 there is the machine he made for the mom and he does his hw really fast. he just pretends to his dad that he is like human.

Because in the first MV when the human was born, the cyborg stayed the same for years until they seemingly looked the same age. It's such a deep MV and I'm not so sure if I understood it correctly...

so lets get this straight. human mind is now in robo body and robo mind is in human body. in the first part the dad uses the switch to activate the robo mind. so when the dad deactivates the robo mind the human body shuts down instead the the robo body 'cuz the human body need a working mind to make it work so with out it the body dies. (i hope that makes sense >.< english isn't my first language)

Ok, so they switch minds(memories). The robot now plays the role of the "real boy" and the Real Boy now plays the part of the "robot". So why does the NOW "real boy" die at the end. Shouldn't the Real boy who is now the "robot" should have shut down, since he has his body now? Why is the shut down option able to shut down the brain and not the body????
