FYI, Single phase Federal Signal sirens like this can be run off of 120 Volts AC at half speed since they use repulsion-induction motors. They only draw around 20 or so amps running that way, so you can usually wire them up to a cord and run it up pretty good. Hope this helps.

now spin it up using the chopper's motor and blow into the air intake with the leaf blower.

I may be getting one soon, so if you can tell me everything I'd probably need to do if I get an STL. Soon, I'm getting a "mystery" siren. I don't know what it is yet, so yah.

Better than some others, having a huge cast iron chopper does help the Wind down though. I hope to see how much it would cost to get the motor rebuilt if necessary, which I think it does considering it clicks every full turn and it looks like there is some sort of crack on the inside of the motor.
@thattechdude7 жыл бұрын
That leafe blower is sooooo weak.
@thatsirenenthusiast Жыл бұрын
It may be, but I believe it's due to the weight of the rotor/chopper, hence the longer wind down on most sirens.
