I got it last night. It's amazing, I'm not a huge fan of the reverb but it's incredible. Saves so much time in mixing

An FYI, maybe you know or not but after reading the manual, if you switch to mono in the analyser it uses half the CPU i.e. use mono when its a mono signal to save CPU if you're using across single channels where needs be, thinking guitar rythum tracks, etc. I'm really digging it generally though and most of the time you will have to tweak something to get it to fit your mix anyway. Even if you mute most of the plugin strip and use a single EQ it still sounds better with the emulated preamps than any other plugin i've tried. The colouration is incredible. There are even presets for just adding colour if that's your bag so don't be fooled by the fact that it's preset based, that's just a starting point. Kind of agree on the point below around the FX but there are some cool presets which give you unique FX sounds to throw into Lofi type things or for some ideas, breakdowns, lead ins, etc. I've basically started putting it on every track lol. I can only imagine what's to come as well. I have to agree that it is pretty insane and you'll use less plugins.

I thought I'd ask the guy who Actually reads the manual... hehe What do you get for the $200 price? Does it include some of the artists presets or those are purchased separately?
@teatime6414
@teatime6414 2 жыл бұрын
@@LuiTunes You get the core presets and then you buy the others separately. Until the end of June you get one the artist preset packs for free as well. They've also just added another free expansion. I wouldn't be fooled by the fact they're presets because you can turn off each of the modules anyway, it's just a good starting point or to add decent colour and the core ones are definitely useable. I'd use it mainly on the busses where necessary.

I would like to know how the control hub is with the daw's CPU please ? Because if you install various control hub on bus master, bus guitars, bus drums, kick drums , snare drums etc...CPU is going burned !? Have you tried and what is the result please ?

I loaded up 6 different instances on my Ryzen 3rd gen 3800x and the cpu barely yawned at 25% with At least 3 instances of ToneHub, Howard Benson vocals, and a few other odds and ends on there as well. This will really boil down to your system.

when you did the parallel compression drum buss preset , you aren’t supposed to have it at 100% unless you’ve sent all your drums to another buss and are blending it in. the super squished sound was intentional, it’s made for blending to add body and sustain

I love it and have 0 regrets. And I mean at the end of the day as long as you and the client are happy with how it sounds, is it really cheating? Plus you can always tweak outside the app with additional things. I think its great.

FYI…. The modules ARE NOT models of the gear in the signal chain… etc: the compressor module when using marks buss comp preset is not “modeled” after marks ssl buss comp. So the controls aren’t going to work like the original compressor etc. this is going to get confusing for people, but I know this for an absolute fact. Mark would NEVER and I mean NEVER run that fast of an attack on a mix buss… ever. Ever. And that’s what the “stock” settings are when you load that particular preset. Marks mixes are super slow attack fastest release always on his ssl.
@joeblow1229
@joeblow1229 2 жыл бұрын
Another thing to keep In mind: there is no way to know exactly for instance, how much gain reduction they were going for, as the compressor reacts to the input of the signal… so, if your incoming signal is much hotter that what the plugin had coming into it when setting up the preset, it’s going to have much more gain reduction on the preset obviously, and vice versa.
@fernandoguerra6841
@fernandoguerra6841 2 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same but yes is based on lewis ssl bus, if you check is going slow attack (30) tipical slow and fast relase in the ssl. but the plugin times are so much fast or slow(basically digital) in case you need. And he say it in the tonehub video too.
@Mendelian
@Mendelian 2 жыл бұрын
The preset is at 30 ms attack, that’s the slowest attack as far as I know with SSL Bud Comps
@joeblow1229
@joeblow1229 2 жыл бұрын
@@Mendelian message mark, I can tell you for a 100 percent fact the modules are not based/modeled after the gear that’s in the signal chain.
