The McMaster catalog discussion made me think of when I was a kid (pre-internet) and the new Sears catalog showed up. Pure bliss to flip through the pages and dream of things to own.

Might I also suggest we do some domestic woodworking tours? There’s a lot of cool stuff to see in various regions of the USA. This if of course with the biases of a North American woodworker. Would imagine lot of interest in that as well. Don’t get me wrong, the UK tour is a great one to start. I lived in the UK for two years and was in awe with a lot of what I saw.

That's a good idea. What are some places you'd put on a list?

@@WoodsmithShowandmagazine How about the while Boston, New Port, Philadelphia could do North Bennett, Winthrop museum, Hancock Shaker village? If in So. California, Maloof, some of those big name craftsman homes (gambrel house). Plus there are likely appropriate musumes. Just some initial thoughts. Appalachias has chair making history.

I’ve built my mockups out of pine (sometimes with nails or blue tape) then once I like how it “feels”, I will use ‘real’ wood with real joinery.
