It's Varuzhan Akobian! Each lecturer on this channel has his own style (e.g. Finegold is brilliantly entertaining, while Seirawan teaches openings, theory and history). But, Akobian is like a chess instructor that you pay by the hour. He actually pushes you to learn and challenges you. Bravo.

Excellent lecture as always by GM Akobian.Very enjoyable and instructive .However in this game his opening looks a lot like the Dutch Stonewall which in previous lectures he had referred to as an inferior opening.Perhaps he is changing his mind?

Isaiah Gunn my first thought was about f4 too, but the king can escape c4 even after queen a4

Carboknight no because your white queen is still on D3 so C4 is not available for black king

my mistake i meant C5 ofcourse, just check it even if you go with Qa4 after he can escape. F4 is no solution for this

There is no professional way to resolve having your opponent disqualified for writing 'take your time' on his scoresheet. Wes is a good sport but guarantee you he has zero respect for Var, same amount any self respecting chess player should have.
