(Epic Motor) Amazing Scenic Hydraulic Elevators @ Macy's - Hawthorn Mall - Vernon Hills, IL

(7-25-19) These are some of my most memorable and favorite childhood elevators. I used to come to this mall all the time as a kid, and I specifically remember riding these elevators (and a few others in the mall).
The elevators themselves are Montgomery (both with epic motors). They have the older Innovation fixtures, and each are on their own controller. These elevators are all around awesome, but I wish they had glass inner doors.

The Monty’s in the north atrium of Somerset in Troy MI have the same motor and fixtures, and also serves 3 floors.Probably installed around the same time

The Elevator World These were installed in 1989. The ones at Somerset were installed in 1996 and are Montgomery KONE.

There is also a Macy's in Appleton Wisconsin. It's called Fox River Mall. I live in Fond Du Lac Wisconsin. So it's about a 40 minute drive. It depends on traffic and stoplights.

I've always found that design with glass landing doors and solid inner doors a bit tacky. Dayton-Hudson seemed to like it in the 90s tho. Otherwise, these are very cool lifts!

Another way you can tell whether an elevator is hydro or traction is the speed it moves, hydros are slow and tractions are fast
