Hi Frank, It was a super day and similar to what we experienced last week although a bit colder. An inversion always adds a lot to the hills and you always get a wee lift walking through the clag into blue sky. It's turning mild again through this week so we'll have to see if we can make it three in a row. Cheers

When you plan your trip do you have a reasonably good idea you will have a cloud inversion? It really adds to the views.
@charliemccartney705511 ай бұрын
@@charlesrobert9527 If you experience low temperatures through the night and the following day is bright and clear then there is the possibilty of an inversion, especially if temperatures remain low, but its a bit hit and miss. You can also find it quite localised from glen to glen. Cheers

Very nice video with good weather. And you give such good explanations of which hills we see all around. Did you follow the Walkhighlands route? Your stats look similar, but it seems you walk way quicker than most people 😉 ATB Karl
@charliemccartney7055 Жыл бұрын
Hi Karl, No, we don't use Walkhighlands for our routes but the one yesterday is typically the way these tops are walked as its generally easier climbing up out of the corrie when heading to the second Munro. The timings in WH are pretty general and are designed to cover the full range is ages and competence. We're all different, but knowing your individual timings for covering ground is something that should be overlooked. Take care. Cheers

Absolutely stunning footage! Can I ask, how do you know you’ll get an inversion of cloud when you set out to do a walk? Thanks .
@charliemccartney70557 ай бұрын
Hi Jacqueline, Unfortunately, there isn't a guarantee of an inversion but we find during periods of near freezing temperatures when clear skies are forecast you'll tend to find an inversion in the glens. It maybe only a few glens, so location is a hit or miss and it may not linger long. If you're lucky and temperatures remain low throughout the day then it might hang around quite a while. You've just got to be there with fingers crossed 👍 Cheers

Hi guys just like to ask what base layers do you recommend value for money
@charliemccartney7055 Жыл бұрын
Hi Darren, Nothing special for us, we tend to go for the thermal base layer that wicks well and layer up from there. On really cold days we could easily have four layers and also pack a spare base layer for an option to change through the day. Cheers
